1982 Jeep Cherokee FSJ

F/s 1982 Full Size Jeep Cherokee. After owning this jeep for many years its time to let her go to another owner. This wide track cherokee has a 4.2 liter straight 6 engine with mopar efi kit installed. The kit costs $3000 and upgrades the engine to the same system found on all 6 cyl jeeps from 91-05. The carburetor and all the crazy vacuum lines are eliminated with this kit. Besides adding better mpg's it also adds around 60 hp. The transmission has been upgraded from the old and weak t5 to an ax-15 5 speed manual transmission. That work was done by no excuses jeep in New Egypt. They are the best jeep shop around for this type of work. A new clutch was installed at that time as well as new Tom Woods Driveshafts. Most imprtatntly, there is no rot on this vehicle. It was originally from NC and has never seen road salt. The underside and frame are immaculate. Ive kept it in my garage and it is not driven in the winter when the roads are salted. The tires are general grabber AT's and are basically new. Original seats were replaced with ford explorer seats. Rear window was wired with relays and troublesome original dash switch was replaced with a better one. Rear switch does not work. New exhaust just installed. Engine was rebuilt by previous owner. I'm not sure of the mileage but its runs great, no smoke or weird sounds and compression was 120 on all cylinders. I recently replaced the pan gasket and the engine was super clean inside. Things that it will need: The dash pad has some cracks There are some small rust bubbles on one of the fender flares. The paint is a few years old and could use some buffing to make it nice (still looks good though) A/c Needs to be redone Overall, you will not find a nicer cherokee in the northeast. This is a great running and very reliable vehicle. If you are seriously looking for one of these vehicles, you will not be disappointed.
