Car description |

Up for auction is my rare and beautiful triple black 1980 Jeep CJ7 Laredo with factory V8 and 4 speed manual transmission and still optioned as it came from the factory. The vehicle mileage is 43,524 which appears to be original miles based on overall condition and listed as actual on title not exempt. This is a true "H" VIN code V8 Laredo which is fairly rare and very desirable especially in this color combination. The Jeep runs, drives and sounds fantastic with tons of power. Completely original black interior with silver accents. All five original 15X8 chrome wheels with even original spare tire. Very well optioned including power steering, power brakes, tilt wheel and air conditioning which is still complete except missing under dash unit.
Body & Paint: The exterior body panels and paint are extremely nice and older repaint shows very well with minor imperfections and no signs of body filler visible from exterior or interior. The hard top finish has been smoothed out and painted to match giving it a more modern clean slick appearance. There are a few paint bubbles on windshield frame, passenger door below lower hinge and door window frame most of which are shown in pictures. The interior floors have the typical CJ problem areas caused by carpeting and not being so air tight. Those being rust behind front seats where roll bar mounts, on driver's floor under carpet heel pad and on top of passenger wheel well where mount is to tail panel. I have included pictures for your examination and would be glad to forward additional at serious buyers requests. These are easy areas to repair and left original so new owner can address in manner suitable to them at their own convenience since it does not have any effect on the Jeeps driving or performance and easier to fix original than redo others work. New patch panels for the roll bar mount areas will be included in sale. There is no rust in tail area nor rear body mounts.
Drivetrain: The drivetrain appears completely original including V8 motor, 4 speed transmission, transfer case and differentials and all function fantastic. The 304 V8 runs amazing with tons of power and sounds great with the dual exhaust and is not cold natured at all. The 4 speed manual transmission and clutch function without fault along with differentials and transfer case. The Jeep does not leak any fluids on the floor which is amazing for a vehicle any age. The power steering and power brakes make this CJ7 drive with ease even at interstate highway speeds. I am not sure of gearing but guessing it is at least 4:10 since runs at fairly high RPM's on highway even with 31's for tires and could be even lower. I have not taken it off-road but sure it can handle whatever it encounters.
Interior: The interior appears completely original. The black seats with silver purse stripes are very nice other than very front section on drivers seat with cracks and seam coming loose on passengers seat. Has matching black vinyl door panels with silver stripes with no damage. The original carpet is complete and nice with minimal wear. The dash pad has a crack and small piece of vinyl missing on end on driver's side but presentable otherwise. The dash has not been cut for an aftermarket radio but has had aftermarket speakers installed which I have not checked to see if covers are just mounted through original speaker grills but stereo does work and sound well. The original roll bar pad is nice but needs zipper repaired on driver's side where slopes to rear. All lights and gauges work with exclusion of clock.
Wheels and tires: Has all five original 15X8 chrome Laredo wheels with even original Good Year 9R15LT spare tire. The wheels are nice and still have the majority of their clear coat and have not been stripped. The other four tires are 31X10.50X15 mud terrains with very little wear and ride very nice and quiet considering tread type.
Don't miss your opportunity to buy this rare triple black CJ7 Laredo with factory V8 since they don't come available very frequent in this desirable combination. I am selling off a few of my classic vehicles from my collection due to storage and time restraints but have no financial hardship requiring me to do so. Please ask all questions prior to bidding through the eBay ask seller a question or call (913)909-1186. Serious buyers are encouraged and welcomed to inspect the vehicle by appointment prior to bidding. I will be glad to provide additional pictures at serious buyers request. The Jeep is currently licensed, insured and titled in my name with no liens if a test drive is desired when inspecting. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. I will cooperate with your transport company of choice regarding pick up.
The CJ7 is being sold in as-is condition with no warranties offered or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close by PayPal. The full remaining payment is due with 7 days of auction close by either wire transfer (preferred), cashier's check (must clear prior to title and vehicle being released) or cash in person unless other arrangements have been agreed upon between buyer and seller prior to auction close. The Jeep must be picked up with 14 days of auction close unless other arrangements have been agreed upon between buyer and seller prior to auction close. My name is Mark and look forward to answering any questions you may have to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please call me at (913)909-1186 or e-mail your questions and requests through eBay Ask Seller a Question option and I will do my best to respond timely.
