Car description |

1984 Jeep CJ7 Garnet Red. This Jeep is in unbelievable condition inside and out. This Jeep is an absolutely RUST FREE California originating example. I don't believe there is really any surface rust on the undercarriage it's that clean! All original gauges, lights, horn, etc. work on the Jeep as they should.
I bought this Jeep approximately 2.5 years ago with the intention of making it a reliable family cruiser. Since it has an automatic transmission (TF999 transmission), I knew my wife would enjoy driving it. Therefore; I added a couple items to improve reliability for peace of mind knowing she would never get stranded. These upgrades include a brand new California compliant 50-state legal Howell Fuel Injection kit and a HEI style ignition system. The Jeep starts up and runs perfectly on the very first crank no matter how long it has been sitting. This Jeep is an absolute pleasure to drive. I never registered the Jeep as it took me a couple of years to do the upgrades as I left home for work numerous times and I also have several other Jeeps which consumed my time.
All the sheet metal on this Jeep is in perfect original condition and this Jeep has never been in a collision or had any type of body work performed on the metal anywhere. This Jeep has had one very high-quality exterior only repaint and truly looks better in person than in photos. I would call this Jeep a very honest 9.5/10 all around. The interior is extremely impressive and the photograph of the floor boards are completely indicative of the entire Jeep. This is unbelievably clean inside and out. The Jeep drives perfectly straight. 4WD engages / disengages exactly as it should. The TF999 automatic transmission shifts like new. Since this Jeep was sold new out of California, it came equipped with the desirable serpentine belt, as required in California for smog purposes.
I've done some things to the Jeep as it needed mild maintenance when I bought it. Here's what has been done to the Jeep...everything performed by myself in my shop. Since completing all the work on the Jeep, I've only driven the Jeep today for the first time and put 3 miles on it. I took the Jeep up to 70 mph effortlessly to test the EFI and HEI. Here's everything that has been done with just 3 miles on the drive train since maintenance has been completed.
Howell EFI California Air Regulatory Board (CARB) compliant kit. This kit is 50-state legal and WILL pass emissions, even in California. All electrical connections have been soldered and heat shrinked.

HEI style ignition system with tach adapter to provide signal back to factory tachometer. Soldered electrical connections.
Replaced rear main seal
Replaced motor mounts and transmission mount
Sand blasted and painted oil pan to make it look new

Replaced A/C compressor. Entire A/C system has brand new, leak-free lines.
Added LED instrument lights so you can actually see the gauges at night
Replaced all vacuum hoses

Replaced upper and lower radiator hoses
Installed new thermostat. Sandblasted and painted thermostat housing
Replaced leaky valve cover with aluminum cover - absolutely leak free
Replaced power steering pressure and return lines

Replaced differential fluid, engine oil, transmission fluid, transfer case fluid and coolant.
Tires are in excellent shape with at least 90% tread remaining.
I like to be as completely honest and transparent as possible when selling a Jeep. Here are the notable things I feel obligated to mention. I think I have everything covered below, but ask any questions you may have as I could be forgetting something.
Original dash pad had a bad crack. I bought a new Crown dash pad and had it color matched.
Air conditioner 100% functions and hoses have been vacuum tested to ensure a fully sealed system. The air conditioner system needs a charge of R-134 refrigerant, which should cost approximately $150 to charge at your local shop.
That's really about it. Truly an incredible Jeep with no hidden surprises. You can get in this Jeep right away and drive knowing you have a reliable, turn-key driver. Please know you absolutely cannot build a Jeep of this caliber for less than my asking price.
The fine print: Open to offers, but please be reasonable as you and I both know I'm not going to accept your $15k offer. Buyer must submit an immediate $250 non-refundable PayPal deposit. The balance is due within 3 business days via wire transfer or cashier's check. Once payment has been received and cleared, I will send you the title via certified mail with signature confirmation. Though I'm confident this Jeep will literally drive across the country without any issues, please remember it is a 35 year old vehicle and things can and do happen to vehicles of this vintage. You're more than welcome to fly in and I'll pick you up from the airport and transport you to my house so you can drive off into the sunset. Or hop in your truck, pull a trailer to my house, drink a beer with me and trailer your new Jeep home. I also have an extremely reliable, very affordable shipper I deal with on a frequent basis and I will be glad to pass on their information to you. I don't think you can beat their rates.
