1980 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade 4x4 . "Jeeps" are an American icon and can trace their history to a call from the military to 135 companies, with WWII impending, to create a 4- wheel drive reconnaissance vehicle. Only two companies responded and a new vehicle segment was born with veterans falling in love with the go anywhere off-roaders. The CJ-7 is the 7th generation of the legendary Jeep produced from 1976-1986. It features a wheelbase 10" longer than the CJ-5 and to help improve handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis was stepped out to allow the road springs and dampers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body.
