Car description |

In 1983, Jeep continued production of the Scrambler with approximately 5,400 units produced, while discontinuing the production of the shortest wheelbase vehicle, the CJ5. From 1981 thru 1986, only 27,792 total Scramblers were manufactured. Sporting a 103" wheel-base and pick-up style bed, giving a smoother ride than it's shorter wheel-base counterparts, Scramblers are one of the most sought after CJ models ever made by both Jeep enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This Scrambler comes from California approximately 6 years ago and still retains all of its original California emissions equipment, sporting a serpentine belt instead of the V-belt system. This particular Scrambler has an extremely well documented service history as well as its original window sticker. The previous owner stated that it was part of an estate sale after being in storage for close to 20 years after the original owner decided to park it.
The Scrambler starts up and runs extremely well with no engine noise or white smoke out of the exhaust. It shifts through all 5 gears flawlessly without pulling at higher speeds. The underside shows no rust or rot, substantiating the claims from the original owner that the 84,736 miles are original.
In my care, the jeep has received a couple tune-ups and adjustments, brand new tires (less than 20 miles), a brake booster, new fuel sending unit, and some miscellaneous smaller items. Due to the loss of the original clear-coat, I did have the paint re-sprayed approximately 3 years ago in the original color. I'm happy to provide pictures of the jeep's condition prior to paint. Additionally, I have a full-length Kayline soft top (Gray with hardware) as well as a rear, fold-and-tumble seat with new upholstery to be included with the sale. The top has not been installed and will be shipped separately upon purchase. Lastly, the bulkhead for the half-cab will also be included as that wasn't reinstalled after the jeep was painted.
I'm selling because I haven't had time to enjoy the Scrambler over the course of my ownership and think it should go to someone who could appreciate it for what it is. I have too many projects right now and need to clear out some space. I do not needto sell so please don't waste your time or mine. Trades are not welcome and will not be considered. I will assist with coordinating and loading vehicle onto shipping truck, however it is the winning bidder's responsibility to procure and pay for shipping. Deposit is required 24 hours after winning bid. Please don't bid if you don't intend to purchase. I will not respond to requests for information on the reserve price.
I believe the pictures will speak for themselves however, please do not hesitate to ask any questions. Thank you for looking and good luck.
