Car description |

I am listing for sale my 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited. Anyone familiar with these trucks will know that this vehicle was produced under the AMC brand and it still has the original AMC 360 V-8 motor and the original transmission, transfer case and differentials. This truck is completely original and even the entire emission control system is still in place and functioning under the hood. What makes this truck extremely rare is the original sunroof (installed by ASC, American Sunroof Corporation) and the required vinyl roof. In 1983, if the sunroof was installed by the factory through ASC, AMC also installed a vinyl roof. Not many of the vinyl roofs have survived the decades, but this truck still has the original, padded vinyl roof. I've only seen one other Jeep Wagoneer with the vinyl roof still intact.
Prior to my ownership, the truck was stored inside for many years and not driven. The good news is that the body has absolutely no rust as a result of the storage, but the paint lost some of its luster. The truck has all the original glass, chrome, light lenses, etc. If you want an original Wagoneer, you won't find one more complete than this one. Even the original digital clock is still in the dashboard and it keeps perfect time!
The bad news is that the interior didn't survive the storage as well as the body did. The carpet and headliner were in terrible condition and have been torn out of the car, but I have TWO of the rare front foam pieces required for sunroof cars. I will include both with the sale. I also have one cardboard liner for under the headliner. This cardboard was not used in sunroof cars, but is can be retrofitted into them, which many people thinks makes the headliner look better. I'll include this with the sale as well. The seats still wear their original coverings, which are presentable, but could use a good cleaning. The original dash pad is in excellent shape, The original metal dashboard has a few spots of rust, but it can be sanded and repainted and it will be perfect.
I purchased the truck in September 2018 with the intention of restoring it. I've always loved the look and style of the Jeep Wagoneer, but personal issues force the sale of the truck prior to completing the restoration. I performed all of the mechanical work that the truck needed to make it a reliable driver. I took the truck on several two hour trips to ski country recently and it performed flawlessly. I'd like to see the truck go to somebody who will complete the restoration and give her a good home. I get many comments, honks and thumbs-up every time I drive this truck, She will be a source of pride for the right individual for years to come.
Since I purchased the truck on September 18, 2018, the following work has been performed:

Since I purchased the truck on September 18, 2018, the following work has been performed:
- Rebuilt carburetor from one of the last true carburetor men, installed and professionally adjusted
- New 3" exhaust - free flowing system with no catalytic converter installed, but I will include a brand new high flow catalytic converter with sale in case your state emissions requires one
- All new accessory drive belts
- Cooling system flushed, installed new thermostat, upper and lower radiator hoses, waterpump by-pass hose and new marine hose clamps
- New Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil in front differential and transfer case
- New rear differential cover, LubeLocker gasket, and Liquid Moly fluid in rear differential
- Recent oil change with Mobil 1 synthetic oil and Mobil 1 oil filter
- New air filter
- Flushed brake fluid
- Flushed power steering fluid
- Lifetime alignment, front end was very tight and needed no repairs
- Replaced both rear brake shoes, rear brake drums, rear brake cylinders and adjusted parking brake
- New Powermaster alternator
- New sending unit for gas tank
- Repaired HVAC system, but the air conditioning does not work. I haven't looked into it because I've only owned the truck during the winter. It may just need a Freon charge or may need to have equipment replaced
- New battery
- recent tune-up
- The original AMC stereo with cassette deck is in the dashboard, but it doesn't work
- Power locks don't work (I took the drivers door panel off and the locks worked, I put the door panel back on and they stopped working again. I don't think it's anything major, maybe the door panel is pinching a wire?)
- Power windows work, but are slow. My mechanic said the regulators are fine, they just need to be lubricated
- Side view mirrors need a new switch, the one installed is frozen and won't move the mirrors
