Update: I have had a lot of questions about the rust on the underbody, that is dried dirt. There is no surface rust on the tub and next to nothing on the frame. Thanks!
Selling my 1990 Wrangler YJ with the renowned 4.2 258 straight 6 and AX-15 5speed. It has the strong running 4.2L 258 straight 6 with the desirable AX-15 5 speed manual. The jeep is in immaculate condition and the paint really proves that and its been in a garage most of its life. I bought it from the second owner in Maryland who purchased it from the original owner in Delaware there have been no accidents and it has an immaculate Autocheck score of 54 (out of 52). There is absolutely no rot on this jeep ANYWHERE, the frame, floors, body mounts, shackle mounts, bump stop mounts and all other common rust areas are completely solid. The frame shows almost no surface rust either. It even comes with the original owners manual!
There are many new parts and upgrades including: fuel pump, fuel filter, distributor, rotor, cap, plugs, wires, battery, exhaust manifold gasket, intake manifold gasket, Carter 2BBL Carburetor, clutch/assembly, Newer Falken Wild Peak A/T mounted on Cragar wheels ($1000), motor mounts, radiator, and radiator hoses. The whole head is brand new as well with gaskets and all, this engine has not one bit of typical straight 6 clatter, it's very quiet and smooth, and runs cool. The interior is just as nice as the exterior, the original seats show very well, they slide forward and back and this was the last year both the driver and passenger seats tipped forward. The 4X4 works great and the vacuum system was bypassed with the desirable pull cable override (shown in the photos). The jeep also has the tilt column which was an option in 90. All of the gauges function minus the oil pressure gauge which is pegged by a bad pressure switch, even the clock ticks. The carpet was replaced with a tan one to match the new Rampage soft top as well. Comes with a 2.5" lift not yet installed and a family roll bar.
The Jeep is near perfect but could use the following: small rust bubble on passenger side addressed, oil pressure sensor switch replaced, U-Joints ( included in the sale), I believe the transmission mount bushing is worn away so if you jerk the jeep in or out of gear it clunks sometimes not always. Please come see it for yourself, I think you will be pleasantly surprised! Additionally, most of the vacuum system has been removed because of its unreliability, that said I suggest you see what your state's regulations are for inspecting a classic vehicle. NJ does not require inspection.
Take a look at all of the comps on CL, eBay, and FB Marketplace to see why I am asking $4,900.
I am looking for it to go to a good home where it will be stored in a garage as well.
I am moving to NYC so it must go, the title is from my old address in NJ so easy title switch to wherever.
More photos upon request.
Thanks
