This 1983 Jeep CJ7 is one clean looking ride both inside and out and it's running great. It carries plenty of upgraded V8 power under the hood so that you can take full advantage of its four-wheel drive surefootedness, and it features a great sound system for a quality audio experience as you tackle rough terrain or cruise down the highway. Jeep struck a great balance with the CJ7. They originally rolled it out to provide a more civilized driving experience to the growing segment of car buyers enthralled with the all-terrain fun such a car could provide, but at the same time, the model also remained a staple of military transportation. One of its refinements comes in the form of a wheelbase that's a full 10" longer than the preceding generation - that extra length gives it a more balanced appearance as well as a noticeably smoother ride. The red paint this '83 wears is looking very strong, especially for a vehicle so well-suited to such rugged pursuits and the chrome grille panel surrounding the headlights up front is in impressively clean condition as it sits over a diamond plated front bumper that would provide a perfect location on which to mount a winch. The roll bars have been covered with foam padding that not only minimizes wear on the Bestop bikini top that's included, but also adds a nice finishing touch when the Jeep is in its open air configuration. The interior appears to have seen quite a bit of attention over the years and presents very well. The pair of black vinyl bucket seats inside sport red inserts and their fresh appearance suggests they were added not long ago, likely along with the center console that sits between them. Below, Rhino lining sits in place of carpeting, providing plenty of protection for the interior while making it far easier to keep clean after those off-road outings. The dash area is also looking good, with clear, functional gauges surrounded by chrome accents and a fresh-looking dash pad on top. A trio of aftermarket gauges have been added to keep a better read on engine functions and a Sony AM/FM head unit with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity sits at the center, teaming with high quality 6 x 9 speakers and the Kenwood subs in back to provide great sound. The 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood offers a substantial displacement advantage over any of the powerplant options offered when this CJ7 was new, and it's in very good form, starting right up and providing plenty of power to surmount obstacles and inclines for those occasions when you choose to leave the asphalt. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, as well as an HEI ignition and Accel wiring, have been added to bring out its best, while a dress up kit that includes a chrome air cleaner, valve covers and alternator provides plenty of engine compartment eye candy. The 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission sitting behind the engine is shifting smoothly and the 4 wheel drive feature activates very easily, so transitions onto roads less travelled are seamless. Power steering makes this Jeep easy to navigate regardless of where you find yourself and power brakes that feature discs up front are in very good working order to bring its set of 15" wheels outfitted with 33" Super Swamper tires to dependable stops. This 1983 Jeep CJ7 is all about good times and its clean look and strong running condition make it well-positioned for plenty more of them in the future. Call today!
