This 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is one rugged looking workhorse. More than a quarter century after it began its duty, it still cuts a very appealing "no nonsense" appearance and, with its numbers matching drivetrain plying its trade alongside some well-chosen aftermarket upgrades, runs with a level of confidence-inspiring smoothness that's very hard to find in a classic SUV. While its black paint does show some evidence of its years of service - after all, it's more than 25 years old and likely hasn't seen the inside of a paint shop during that time - you won't find any glaring dents or scratches, so this vintage Jeep remains very presentable. The woodgrain paneling ornamenting its sides is actually looking pretty strong and, even upon close inspection, you'll find that its sturdy frame has done its job well. There are no signs of sagging on its sizable form and its four doors, decklid and liftgate all open and close with no issues at all. A trip to the local re-chroming shop will have the front and back bumpers looking their best, as both are table straight and show no major dings. There's a pretty sizable array of glass surrounding the cabin - 3 windows and a couple of wind wings per side, plus the front and rear windshield - and all of it is looking impressively clear while being surrounded by rubber seals that have plenty of life left in them. Take a look beyond the doors and you'll see a clean interior that holds some welcome surprises. An Alpine media player has been so cleanly installed in the dash, it could be mistaken for factory equipment, though it offers functionality that was way out of reach at the time this Jeep debuted as well as convenient A/V inputs for passenger entertainment. A CB radio is on board, complete with front loudspeaker and though it will need a bit of tuning to perform as intended, it looks fairly new and should have plenty of life left in it. Due to a complete reupholstering session only about a half year back, the seating throughout the cabin is in fine shape and is plenty comfortable for even the longest of journeys - the front buckets feature power adjustment and they, as well as the bench seat behind them, really look great. Up front on the dash, the array of control knobs and switches are all working as intended and the gauges in the instrument cluster may show a bit of age but they, too, are completely functional. The engine compartment is well detailed and tidy - this '91 likely made a trip down to the steam cleaner not long ago. At its center sits the original 360 cubic inch V8 and it still acquits itself well, starting right up and running smoothly to provide a very pleasant driving experience. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold have been added to provide some extra power and a nicely sized aluminum radiator is up front to keep temperatures down in more demanding conditions. The 3-speed automatic transmission is shifting with precision and 4-wheel drive ability is easily activated and combines with the Jeep's substantial ground clearance to provide surefootedness once off the asphalt. Power steering featuring a recently replaced pump makes this substantial vehicle easy to drive, while power brakes - with discs up front - provide low effort stopping ability as it performs its duties on a set of 15" stock wheels outfitted with Cooper All-terrain tires. This iconic 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has been well cared for over the years, and it's ready for action just as soon as you get it home. Call today!
