Car description

Up for auction here is a Jeep you don't see much of any more .but when totally restored makes for a really Coolride. I believethat 1967 is the first year that Jeep made the Commando.I purchased this Commandofrom a lady who bought it new off the showroom floor way back in August 14,1967 from Reuther Jeep out of St. Louis, Mo. she & her husband drove it for approx. 20 years then parked it in their garage for another 15 years thenpulledit outside of their garage for another 15 years & it was running when they parked it.What's really good about this Jeep is its all original, all there and never been messed with.only missing a couple of minor parts and could easily be running again with a little bit of work.I was told it was always serviced by the dealer back in the day.It has a good ole Buick 225 ci. V6 engine in it with a Monster of a Tranny behind it,a GM TH-400 Turbo automatic, transfer caseand 4 wheel drive unit are all in place, factory Warn lock out hubs in front, has factory power brake with drum brakes front & rear.
The bodysurprisingly is Very straight all over the entire vehicle....now it does have some rust around it though....It will need both front floor pans & the rear floor pan under the back seat.along with both left & right rocker panels. All of the body mounts are all in good shape, and what is really a Big bonus is both rear wheel tubs are not rusted..The entire chassis is Very solid with surface rust only,,,,for what I have seen structurally the entire body is really strong,,,,,All there and in good repairable shape.
As the photos show both front lower doors have surface rust only on the underside which is really a plus.I've been a body man all of my life and I think that it For Sure is a fixer upper,,,I just do not have the time to restore this ride or I would,,I'd rather see someone else get it and fix er up.
All of the interior is intact except it is missing a right door inner trim panel..All of the exterior trim moldings & bumpers all seem to be in decent shape as well.I was told that the dealer back in 1967 did install a new lowertailgate onit which still is in good shape,,it is missing a right front 1/4 glass .It has a factory installed trailer hitch. The all steel top is totally removablefor those cruisingSummer days & nights.
The original owner informed me that the 83,400 miles on the speedometer are all correct.I dohaveall of the paperwork including a clean Missouri title,a like new owners manua, a complete factory Jeep service manual and even the originalpurchaseinvoice when it was first purchased back in 1967.This vehicle's worth every dime that I'm asking for it for they are getting harder and harder to fine in any condition.I'd be glad to answer any more questions that you all might have ..
Thank You & Good Luck Bidding
