This is a unique opportunity to buy the one of the best CJ's in the country. It's an original and documented survivor in California. It's also been upgraded with some of the best features on a CJ. First is has the FACTORY fuel injection. It's an upgrade offered by Chrysler to modernize the problematic CJ's factory carburetor problems. Unlike the less expensive aftermarket fuel injection options, this MOPAR factory unit is one any Jeep dealer can service and maintain. Also, the usual fuel injection alternative is only a throttle body unit. The MOPAR unit is a much more powerful fuel rail (identical to that used on Wranglers until 2006. When used on the 4.2 liter 258 motor, it increases horsepower and torque considerably. Most throttle body (TBI) types do little to nothing to increase horsepower or torque, they just run much better than the factory carb. (see chart pics below from a technical magazine). The MOPAR kit is still available for CJ's and costs $2695! With the 8 hour installation - this is $4,000 upgrade. The Howell TBI upgrade is also the only other non-factory kit that is Ca SMOG legal. The MOPAR kit is 100% California CARB EO certified.
Read anything on this kit and you'll understand how much better it is (than other other option, period. including upgrading the entire motor to a V8 or other motor) The engine has also been upgraded with the aluminum valve cover, replacing the leaky factory plastic one.
This Jeep has also been upgraded with Fox reservoir shocks at $250 each. The tires and suspension are new and the lift adds a much improved ride and 4" of lift. The tires are 35x12.5 and the gearing is stock. All windows have been 3M tinted 40%. The lift gate works as it should. Top has been reconditioned.
That carpet is factory carpet. Driver seat shows wear. All others are in great shape. The Renegade decals on the right side are ORIGINAL factory decals. The left side (driver) has OEM replacements and some spare decals will be given to buyer. The dash mounted stereo is working.
All lights, including the interior convenience lights, switches, gauges, and buttons work as should/new. Headlights are upgraded to HID. Winch works flawlessly.
This jeep drives like a new Wrangler. It's comfortable, quiet and easy to drive with the automatic. A young adult could easily take this across town or the country. NO issues whatsoever.
