Car description |
---|
1971 Jeepster Commando C101 convertible hard top, Dauntless 225 V6, Turbo 400 auto, 4wd, PS, PB. 2 owner with approx. 102,000 miles. Runs and drives great. It's a smooth cruiser. Gets great comments and thumbs up all the time. Has a nice patina.
This Jeepster spent its life in mild northern California and is rust free except some bubbling on the tailgate. Other than a minor dent in driver's side rear quarter panel this Jeep is very straight. All electrical and gauges work except the 1980's Kraco radio. (includes rare radio delete panel too). Windows and matching door locks work. Original steel wheels and hubcaps. Original rubber floors in great shape under carpet. Paint is a quality exterior respray that was done a long time ago. Jeep is always stored under a fitted car cover.
All of these items are new: Starter, brake wheel cylinders, brake pads, brake drums, Pertronix electronic ignition (no points), Pertronix flamethrower coil, distributor rotor, distributor cap, spark plugs, spark plug wires, tuned carburetor, fuel lines, filters, gas tank fuel filler and vent tubes, 4 inch lift from Just Jeepsters, extended length stainless brake lines, shocks, u-joints, 31x10.50 tires, matching full size spare, and steering stabilizer.
Interior has new front and rear seat upholstery to match original, new front seat foam, new seat belts front and rear, new carpet kit, roll bar, new bikini top, new radio antenna, new front door and tailgate top window seals, new window whiskers and seals.
A few things on the to do list. There is a little seepage of oil through the oil pan and trans pan gaskets. Might drip from time to time but not always. I have new gaskets but haven't installed. I have a carburetor rebuild kit too but haven't installed since it runs well. Also have a new muffler, the original works fine but is a little old and wanted to freshen it up. Original perforated black cardboard headliner is a little saggy. My plan was to remove it and moisten lightly and flatten out.
This is a really nice, solid 47 year old Jeep. I'm selling it because I have a couple other projects and am just not using it enough. With the price of Bronco's and Landcruiser's increasing so much this is a great affordable alternative.
