Car description

It's only recently that Chrysler got the memo that Jeeps are SUPPOSED to look like this super-rare 1979 Jeep CJ5 Silver Anniversary edition. Big tires, burly suspension, minimal frills. It's been the formula from the beginning, and thanks to a major investment, this V8-powered CJ is ready to play in the dirt or even pick up some trophies at the next big show. There were under a 1,000 of these Jeeps ever made, and this is one of only 75 that is currently confirmed in The Silver Registry.
Beautifully refinished just last year, this CJ5 looks like it could knock down a building then triumphantly climb over the rubble without even getting dirty. Fortunately, it's just too pretty for such tasks, wearing impressive and correct Quicksilver paint dressed up with period-correct Renegade graphics that are as right as the chicken on a Trans Am. The shape is the same one they've been using since World War II, with oversized rubber fender flares for the equally oversized tires, a simple front bumper, the familiar 7-bar grille, and a folding windshield. It's in really impressive condition, with no evidence that it was abused or neglected, and given the popularity of these vehicles over the years, it's still rather rare to find one this nice. Since this is a relatively high-end restoration, they kept it stock, so no extra lights or oversized flares, just an OEM Silver Anny. look that still resonates with enthusiasts today. Jeeps have pretty much always looked like this, which is surely why we love them so much. But we have to admit, it's really rare to find one this nice and this rare.
Given the capabilities of this Jeep, the interior is neatly finished, from the low-back bucket seats wearing partial original Silver Anniversary upholstery to a fresh back seat to a fully-lined tub that'll last practically forever. The seats have a proper 1970s look and minimal wear and the pattern and contrasting silver stitching makes them seem special, not basic. An aftermarket center console was installed between them and includes a locking compartment, but that seems to be the lone upgrade inside. A long shifter controls the 3-speed manual transmission, and just ahead there's the original instrument panel with factory gauges that offer bright, crisp markings. There's also an original AM/FM radio and a fat 3-spoke steering wheel, so it isn't completely uncivilized. It also includes a bikini top, so at least the guys in the front seat don't need to worry (much) about the weather.
With a short wheelbase and a big V8, this CJ moves like a muscle car. The 304 cubic inch V8 is brightly detailed and ready to rock with corporate turquoise engine enamel and a heavy-duty air cleaner up top, along with new equipment like the power brake booster and master cylinder. The engine itself stands out in the all-silver engine bay, and with a 2-barrel carb and a snarky dual exhaust system tucked into the frame rails, the low-end torque is more than impressive. The chassis was obviously recently and comprehensively restored, with fresh paint on the running gear, a set of Skyjacker shocks, and shiny floors that match the bodywork. Skid plates, heavy-duty axles at both ends, and other off-road-critical components are all in good order, and it offers power steering and power front disc brakes, a nice safety feature. Factory chrome wheels look awesome, particularly wrapped in giant 31x10.5-15 Goodyear radials.
The Silver Anniversary CJ5 is the rarest of all the CJs, and here it is in excellent shape with a recent restoration and V8 power. Owned by a Jeep enthusiast and currently registered in The Silver Registry, this is truly one of the most special CJs on the market. All you have to do is call!
