Just finished custom Jeep YJ (took over a year)
New:
body work and paint: welded metal filled front marker light holes, cut and reshaped front fenders with LED's, metal filled rear tail light holes and all other original holes, all dents done, no rust anywhere. NEW under coating. Custom made rear stainless steel sheet metal fenders, custom made HD steel rear spare tire holder that also holds two 5 gallon Jerry cans and also holds two thick PVC cylinders w/ caps that each hold two propane bottles for camp stove or lanterns (holds total of four bottles), L.E.D. rear tail lights, custom made steel front bumper/Winch plate with 12,000 LB winch (wireless remote and wired remote) Winch is brand new and has not been used and the cable has not been pulled and re-winded on it yet.
Removable mud flaps all corners (one bolt and it slides out)
Interior: completely stripped and coated with rubberized coating, completely covered with sound/heat barrier material, new black carpet throughout, seats and seat supports in great condition, seat supports sanded and painted. Floor sheet metal was welded at the original gearshift/trans inspection plate and a new stainless steel one shaped for new trans/transfer case shifter/Twin Sticks. New shifter boots. New dash bezel and clear plastic gauge cover, new door handle and bezel, new padded door panels, replaced broken (original) tilt steering column with a very nice original one, heater box removed, repaired and installed new blower fan with a faster, more powerful fan, new heater core; overhead upholstered speaker console with CB Radio, custom center console with drink holders and storage, dual power point, short "box" in rear for storing fold-up table and propane stove, new stereo/CD player in-dash.
Have a set of the short doors too but are not painted to match the new paint. I was going to paint them black to match the hard top and bumpers/fenders.
Motor is a fresh Chevy 350 with an Air Gap intake, rebuilt Holley 600 CFM Carb, new block-hugger stainless steel headers, new complete exhaust system and mufflers done locally 2 weeks ago, new oil pan, fuel lines and filter, new Alternator, new hoses, new wiring (all wiring was soldered and covered with heat shrink), new belts, new Griffin Aluminum radiator with twin electric fans, new motor mounts and custom made tranny mount (removable).
Transmission is a SM 465 (unbreakable), transfer case is the NP205 twin stick. New clutch slave cylinder and bracket/hose and fork.
New front and rear drive lines with double condon U-joints done by "The U Joint" in Chehalis.
Front axle is an 8-lug Dana 44 HD (uses the Dana 60 bearings). New bearings, seals, calipers, rotors, pads, custom made brake lines (braided stainless). 409 gears. New High Steer setup/rod ends/rod and arm (had machine shop do the 3 threaded holes). Front axle shimmed for castor angle and aligned at shop. Front axle spring perches moved outward on frame to allow for wider axle/spring width.
Rear axle is an 8-lug Dana 60. Just a few days ago I had Nick at the South Sound Race Track shop rebuild the rear end. New gears, seals, bearings etc. (this alone was $980.00) (The spider gears and bearings were wearing out). I asked him to do a brake job if needed since it was going to be taken apart anyways and he said the brakes were good.
I'm probably missing some things...
Things that need to be fixed:
Turn signals only work manually (I installed the L.E.D. flasher but still not blinking on its own) I am researching this now)
Fuel gauge not working (I might pull the gauge cluster and clean the connects/check gauge soon)
Original dash clock not working
No horn hooked up (I have one)
Other things that I've done to the Jeep:
Removed the fuel tank, replaced the fuel sender gasket with new one, cleaned old fuel out of tank and fuel lines.
Built custom 3" round steel rock guards and welded to frame each side...is used for step also
Built custom transmission/transfer case support..one main and one side-mount (two supports)
New trans mounts
New leaf spring bushings and bolts
New U-bolts, plates at both axles
New tie rod and rod-ends front suspension (besides the new high-steer assembly)
New shocks all around and new steering stabilizer shock
cell phone holder and bracket on dash
Built custom ladder bars (3-link) on rear axle to keep the pinion angle from moving/breaking u-joints
I bought the correct senders for both the oil pressure and water temp gauges so the stock gauges would work (and they do)
The distributor is a new HEI with new wires. The original Jeep Tachometer works good.
New rear main seal installed
It has a dual battery system installed with marine switch. One new battery and one good used battery. I run with the used battery (the #2 battery is used for the Winch). Can charge #1 or #2 or both or none. Can run (use) #1, or #2 or both.
Tires and wheels:
Tires are Military 37" 16.5's with 75% tread. I removed the run-flats but still have them if you want them (and the wheels).
Wheels are 8 lug 16.5's
Spare tires/wheels- I have two (2) (mounted on wheels) both in excellent shape. One is on Jeep.
