1978 Jeep CJ7 Renegade 5.0 Liter 304 V8, mild cam, engine produces plenty of horsepower & torque TH 400 Automatic transmission89,000 original milesPower Steering & disc brakesClean title in my name Recent inspection
Work Performed within the last 500 miles:Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold & Air Intake Edelbrock 600 cfm carbAll vacuum wiring, hoses, belts have been replaced or updatedNew radiator, heavy duty 6 blade fanNew brake master cylinder & stainless brake linesNew primer pump (engine starts right up every time)New power steering pumpNew solenoidDisc brakesNew gas tank, flow lines; fuel pumpNew ignition cylinder & keys2.5" Procomp Suspension lift with new shocks; bushings5 31x10.50" Goodyear Wrangler MTR tires (including spare), roughly 300 miles on themNew front & rear bumpersI am sure there is more that I am forgetting. More than 9K in work performed in last year
All original gauges, lights, 4wd, turn signals, etc work with new sending units, relays, electrical for eachNew seats were installed about 6 months agoNew window seal cowling & Jeep dash pad (have original as well).
This particular year CJ7 Renegade with the 304 V8 & automatic transmission came with the Borg-Warner Quadratrac all time 4wd. The previous owner installed a mile marker conversion kit and added Warn Manual locking hubs. I had an alignment performed a few months ago, for a 40 year old vehicle the Jeep handles great, can drive with 2 fingers on the steering wheel without the typical white knuckle driving found on most old CJs. Original doors & hardtop & miscellaneous other Jeep gear included in sale. 3.73 gears.
Known issues on the Jeep:The previous owner spilled gas on the right rear corner fender (see photo), this was replaced with metal (no bondo) but never repainted. The paint is original, a new owner might want a new paint job on it.The radio needs a new antenna and new speakers, I pulled the fuse a long time ago as I don't listen to the radio while driving it.I would recommend a fan shroud for any shade tree mechanics working on the Jeep so no fingers get lost.
The Jeep is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If there are any questions don't hesitate to contact me via email or at (830) 612-0028 (leave a message and I will get back to you).
I can also send additional photos and videos of the Jeep starting up and being driven. A $500 paypal deposit is required with 48 hours of the auction ending. Full payment with 7 days of auction close. I can assist loading the vehicle for shipping but shipping will be up to the buyer.
The Jeep spent most of its life in the desert in California and until recently has always been garage stored. The vehicle is truly a rust free vehicle, and a considerable amount of time, money and effort has been put into the Jeep mechanically and electrically. I am regretfully selling the vehicle to appease the wife who wants the Jeep out of the garage and who cannot abide me keeping a vehicle that I only drive 10-15 miles per week and it is time for someone else to enjoy the Jeep.
