The CJ-5 was first introduced in 1954 and over 600000 were produced until 1983 and it was one of the longest produced Jeeps in the company's history. In 1973 The CJ5 "Super Jeep" was introduced as an ultimate limited run appearance package distinguished by its white upholstery and crazy patriotic decal package. Just 300 were made and they are extremely collectable with some in selling in the $50k range. 1979 marked the 25 year of the CJ5 production and over the years there were constant update...s. A new 4.2L 258cid straight-six cylinder was introduced in the late 1970s and it featured a 2bbl carburetor mated to a 3-speed manual. This particular 1979 CJ5 has been converted to look like one of the rare Super Jeeps with excellent paint and professionally installed graphics. The interior has also been given the treatment and shows excellent red and white seats with a clean dashboard and working instruments. The odometer appears to be stuck and shows 999 miles. The truck also features solid front and rear axles and front disc brakes and rear drums. The engine starts up with zero issues and pulls very strong and the truck has no trouble reaching highway speeds. It is easy to shift and there are no issues with low-range either. The tires are in great shape and have lots of life left and are mounted on 15in wheels with a solid finish. It also appears that the engine has been looked over with a new starter and alternator sprucing up the engine bay A very patriotic take on the classic American 4x4 now is your chance to catch a head turner. Whether you buy this to pull a 4th of July parade float or taking it out camping in a national park this CJ5 is for you.
