Up for sale is a beautiful excellent condition 1950 Willys Overland Jeepster Custom Convertible. This is a one-of-a-kind Jeepster! I am selling this Jeepster as a convertible only and will be delivered as such. The Jeepster was frame-off restored about ten years ago. I have owned it seven and one half years. It has been stored in a dehumidified garage to preserve its great appearance and condition. The historic Jeepster look has been maintained with minor outside changes...the custom tires and wheels.
Under the hood is an Oldsmobile 350 CI V-8 engine with lots of power. It has a light purr sound. Also, the V-8 is complimented with a 2 speed power glide transmission. The original Jeepster model normally had a 4 cylinder and manual transmission. The interior is fully upgraded and modernized while still maintaining a custom historic look. Furthermore, the undercarriage is nearly as clean as the outside. Just look at the photos to see the quality finish of this historic vehicle. The odometer reads 54,319 and still works but is not the actual/original mileage.
The removable rear convertible top cover, convertible top and window curtains are made of high quality waterproof canvas similar to what you find on Mercedes or BMW convertibles. The top can be easily raised and lowered. One of the closure latches looks fragile and probably needs to be replaced so I did not fully lock the top in the attached photos. It is a snug fit. The original Jeepster latch parts are all there as they should be. It just needs a stronger simple piece fabricated and installed with two screws. This is the only reason I am selling the Jeepster solely as a convertible. The clear window plastic looks perfect.
Equipment and options include:
Oldsmobile V-8 Engine With Edelbrock Chrome Valve Covers & Air Breather
2-Speed Power Glide Transmission With B&M Trans Shifter
Sony AM/FM CD Player With Removable Face (books Included)
Gauges: Speedometer, RPM, Water Temp, Oil PSI, Battery Volts, & Fuel Gauge
Manual Turn Signals
Emergency Flashers
Parking Brake
Tires 235/75 R15
Wheels Are Beautiful Chrome Spoke
Spare Tire Is A Canvas Covered Original Size Tire To Maintain The Historic Look
Interior Is Grey Carpet (Floor Liner)
Luxury Grey Floor Mats Front & Rear
Rack And Pinion Steering
Windshield Wipers
Heater
Lights Low & High Beam, Parking, & Instrumentation
Manual Shut-Off On Battery To Preserve Power
Air Vents Fed By The Hood Vent Just In Front Of The Windshield
Chrome Is In Excellent Condition With Only A Few Minor Spots
Exterior Paint Is Exceptional! The true color (photos don't show the accurate color in many cases) is red in sun light and orange with clouds. This paint was used on some 1957 Chevrolet Bel Airs. Paint Formula Code Provided To The Buyer.
There were only 19,000 of these Jeepsters made between 1948 to 1950. This is not a perfect vehicle but is high quality enough to compete in car shows or just as a beautiful pleasurable driver. Although the convertible top is of the highest quality, I would not expect this top, when fully up/installed, to protect all of the inside. They just weren't designed to be that well sealed or waterproof. Therefore, if sold outside my local area the Jeepster should only be transported in a closed car carrier/transporter. Furthermore, this Jeepster has never been washed by me in all the years I have owned it! It has never been in the rain or on wet roads. I dust it lightly and keep it covered. I use a soft wet cloth to clean spots or areas to include waxing. I have only driven this beauty with the top down. Don't miss out on this exceptional one-of-a-kind custom Jeepster at a great price. It was a hard decision to part with this Jeepster but it is time for another vehicle. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
Note: The colors are consistent. Some photos show different colors.
PS: I don't need help selling. Please no solicitation contacts. Only serious buyers.
