Up for sale is my 1979 Jeep J20. Bought this truck with the intentions of using it as a work horse. but it needs more time and money to get it were I want than I'm willing to contribute. This truck would suit someone who has a good running V8 they can drop in or are looking for a great parts truck. You already know how rare J20's are if you're looking at this. Engine is a 360 and has zero compression on #1 cylinder. and 50-60 on the remaining. Wet test shows it's all in the top end. I changed the timing chain & gear due to slop. hoping it would fix the issue. It has not. so I'm done. Transmission was claimed to be rebuilt with less than 500 miles this year going by the words of the previous owner. It did shift very strong during the short time I had it running. Carb is a 2v Motorcraft that has been rebuilt. This truck had a good braking system when running(3 months ago). Tank has been dropped and gone through. Radiator doesn't leak a drop. Take note that another engine or top end rebuild will put this truck on the road. I do have a good running 304 if interested. The body of the truck is usable. but by no means perfect. Very little rust on the outer skins of the truck. but the interior of the bed has rust. Previous owner laid down sheet metal over top the original bed and spot welded(see pics). Rust is on the inside roof of the truck. small amount on the drivers side cowl. inside corners of the bed and roof drip edges(see pics). Outer skins of the bed are nice. Tail gate is nice with a small amount of rust on the lower corner. Grille has been replaced with the "razor" grille and is in good shape with minor dents. Front and rear bumpers are straight. Fenders and doors are nice. The interior is good and bad. The seat has been recently reupholstered and is very nice. The door panels are fair. dash pad is toast. Some loose parts included are the glove box door and other misc pieces that are pictured. and a few parts not pictured(more chrome and solid back glass). All questions welcome. I do my best to describe vehicles I sell online. Viewing the truck in person is recommended. Send me an email if interested and we can go from there.
