Car description

Here it is, the Holy Grail of CJ-7s. This is a late 1986 CJ-7 with factory Dana 44 axles and 53k actual miles (see attached Carfax). I bought this from a soldier who is in the Army and bought it in 2010 from the original owner. He was stationed in Washington state at the time and was deployed quite a bit so the Jeep hasn't been driven much at all. He was stationed in Savannah, GA when I purchased it from him.
The CJ isn't technically a Laredo, the previous owner added the decals and striping. I've owned half a dozen or more CJ-7s and have always wanted an '86 with factory D44s, but sometimes life happens and we have to sell those things which are not truly necessary. Words cannot express how reluctant I am to see my CJ.Below is everything I know.
  • 1986 CJ-7, Olympic White with Garnet Red interior which matches the firewall tag, which I will post a picture of tomorrow. Basically this is the original paint color and the original interior and interior color.
  • 53k actual miles (See Carfax)
  • Original Garnet Red interior. Outside of driver's seat has been repaired sometime in the life of this CJ (look closely in pics, it's been done very well). Passenger and rear seat are literally perfect with no tears or stains.
  • Factory Dana 44s, so this CJ was one of the last CJ-7s ever produced. AMC used Dana 44s in the last half on 1986 (the last year the TRUE JEEP was produced)
  • 258ci; 4.2L straight 6. The ideal CJ-7 engine. These motors last forever.
  • T-5 overdrive manual transmission (better gas mileage).
  • Tilt wheel.
  • Practically new 33x12.50 tires and new wheels. The soldier I bought it from bought new wheels and tires, but I do not recall when.
  • Hard top (not pictured, but I'll put it on whenever wifey is feeling helpful) included which is perfect.
  • Hard doors included, also perfect, see pics. I have a garage so these have literally been stored inside my house. Not broken at the top by the vent windows.
  • Soldier added a Weber Carb for more performance, other than that it's stock. Hasn't been Nutter Bypassed even.
  • Solider installed a Tuffy Storage Trunk ($315) behind the back seats as well as a matching Tuffy locking center console. I have keys for both.
  • Soldier also had a cut-off switch professionally installed inside the Tuffy center console. Basically, you can drive it topless, park it, kill the switch, lock the console, and NO ONE can crank it. It literally kills the battery.
  • Soldier wasn't mechanically inclined and paid for all work to be done by a local 4x4 shop specializing in CJs. No shade tree mechanic work done here.
  • Floors are perfectly solid. No signs of them ever being repaired.
I live about 8 hours from Savannah, GA where the soldier was stationed. I know a decent bit about CJ-7s and have always wanted an '86 with D44s so I manged to get the Jeep here because of the shape it's in. I cannot express how reluctant I am to let this go. I'll post more pictures tomorrow once wifey eats her wheaties and is ready to put the top on.
Thanks for looking, shoot me a message if you have any questions at all.
