I have a 1977 Jeep CJ-5 up for auction. It has a very good running 360 V8 engine in it that came out of a 1988 Grand Wagoneer. Previous owner stated the engine had 78. 00 miles on it when it was taken out of a wrecked Wagoneer and put in this Jeep 2 years ago with the odometer reading 25. 11 miles. Its showing 28. 60 now. I have no idea of knowing the true mileage on the Jeep. The engine does not leak. smoke or rattle and runs great. It has a new battery. oil change. fuel pump. rotor button. distributor cap. ignition switch. solenoid switch and a 600 cfm Holley carburetor. The transfer case is good. the rear end is good. the front manual hubs are free and work smooth. The front differential will need a pinion bearing for sure. The front driveshaft is out. I have the front drive shaft with 2 new universal joints to go with the Jeep. The transmission pulls good in all gears. but reverse and 1st shift a little hard. I don't know if it could be a linkage adjustment or not. 2nd and 3rd shift smooth and easy. The clutch is strong and doesn't slip. The Jeep has fenderwell headers with mufflers and turn outs in front of the rear wheels. The Jeep sounds awesome. The lights. amp gauge. temperature. oil pressure. tachometer and speedometer work. It will need windshield wiper arms and a switch for them to work. The seats are not Jeep seats. but I have a set of Jeep seats to go with it. They will need repair/recover. It does have the Jeep seat frames. No back seat. Frame is solid with no rust thru. It has power steering that is not bad for a 1977 Jeep. It has a little play. but not too bad really. It has manual disc brakes that work fine. The body has a lot of dents and dings. but not a lot of rust. It was obviously painted with spray cans of John Deere green. The tailgate is not a Jeep gate. its a homemade tail gate. The floor pans have had some replacement panels installed at some time. The top is not really good. The zippers on the rear panel don't zip up all the way. The doors are pretty good and all the hardware is included with it. It has 10" chrome wheels with a set of 31x10. 50x15 tires. The tires don't match and probably would not pass state inspection. This is a good running. driving project Jeep that's priced cheap compared to others on ebay. It would be fine as a farm/off-road/hunting vehicle or put a little money. parts and work into it and put it on the road again. I have only driven the Jeep 30 or 40 miles total with a farm use tag only and it does run good. drive and stop. Feel free to ask any questions and I will answer as best as I know.
