Car description

1994 jeep wrangler with a 4cyl 5 spd. being sold in as is where is with no warranty to highest bidder. This was a daily driver past couple of years in the summer months. I prchased the car from Des Moines. IA and have driven it in the Omaha. NE area. I bought the Jeep without a top and would use a Bikini top for rainy days. therefore I was never able to use in the winter months and would put in storage during that time. So. that has really helped to keep the rust from taking over. This past fall I purchased the hard top and doors from a CJ jeep owner. I installed them with the intention of extending the driving season in late fall and early spring. I have not driven in the snow this past year as I had another vehicle to drive so this has not seen salt this year as well. The Jepp has roughly 152. 00 mile on it. as it runs well and shifts ok. It still could be used as a daily driver. as long as you stay off the interstate and keep it below 50MPH. Engine. runs well. it is the 4cyl and it is getting tired. but idles well and runs without misfiring. has a header on it and a muffler with no tail pipe after the muffler. in the past 3 years I put on a new water pump. new belt and some pulleys. one new motor mount. and I have the other side motor mount but have not installed it but will include it with a new tranny mount. Tranny. tranny has always been a little ifffy. Sometimes it acts as if it does not want to shift into second gear smoothly. so you need to finese it in gear. also 5th gear was always odd as you could never get enough speed up to be able to use it. and when you did it was difficult to get into 5th gear. I replaced a motor mount and that has helped a little with this. I also have a tranny mount that could use replaced as well and I will throw that in. It almost feels like the clutch slave is not disengaging the clutch all the way. and it does not happen all the time. but I do have a good used clutch master and slave cyl assembly I will throw in with the sale. I just not have had the time to mess with changing it out and it has not gotten to the point that it has annoyed me to badly but it is worth mentioning. This has the external slave cyl so changing this does not require removing the tranny from the engine. Transfer case. opereates properly and 4 wheel drive works as it should. this is an aging jeep and has lots of miles so please consider that as the drivetrain is old and tired. the front axles will probably need new ujoints in the near future. Suspension. springs are tired and could use a new springs. there are some heavier shackles on the front and I have a set for the rear that will rasie the jeep 1. 5". the front end is tight and needs no bushings or tie rods or ball joints and this time. the rear track bar was removed before I got it and I was told that was done to help keep the ride less bouncy. I have an extra track bar I can throw in. rides like a jeep. but suspension feels good and tight and not loose. Gas Tank. the fuel guage works. which is rare but there is a small leak in the gas tank when you fill it more than 3/4 full. I suspect it to be either the gromet on the roll over valve or the low presure fuel return line. banking on the roll over gromet. that means you either need to not fill the tank. or drop the tank and fix it. all the bolts are clean and have been sprayed with PB blaster. as I have been flirting with tackling this job the past year. but balked because I figured after I removed tank I may as well change the leaf springs out with a small lift but never had the time and money to do it. Frame. the frame is solid as are most of the mounts. one common area prone to rust is the rear spring eye mounts. I took a pic of the rear frame on the passenger side and you can see that there is some rust through in that area and this will need repair sometime. the driver side is still good as is the rst of the frame. Body. the Body is in great shape as is the floor. there is the usual wear and tear and dings. areas of rust are on drivers side where the floor meets the rocker. I took some pics of that area and it has some patch panels over that area. but overall good condition for a jeep in the rust belt. it has TJ rear metal fender flares and the wheel well has been cutout to fit. the front plastic flares have ben trimmed. the rear bumper has a receiver hitch and the front bumper is a homemade fabricated bumper with D rings and an aftermarket stinger. light guards on headlights. hi jack lift on hood will not be sold with jeep. Tires and wheels. Wheels are from a Rubicon TJ and the tires are wrangler Duratrac and have plenty of tread on them. they are 16". spare tire is non matching 16" and holds air. the jack is still in tack under the hood. Top and doors. the top is from a CJ and those fit a YJ but need some mods to work on them. this jeep has the roll bar supports that go to the winshield so the inside of the top near the windshield was trimmed to fit around those brackets. the rear hatch does not work well with a YJ as the hatch closes over the rear tailgate. and to open the hatch it wants to bump the spare tire and you get the picture. amyway I disabled the latch mechanism and siliconed the hatch to keep the water out as I am using the top just for a few months and did not want to put any money into that rear hatch which is rusty. The top is fiberglass and the hatch is metal. the doors are from an early CJ as the latching mechanism shows. they were brown and I just paintd the outsides and left the insides brown. see pics. as they are for function only for the few months they are used. I do have the metal flashing pieces for a soft top install I will include that go around the bed portion of the jeep and the windshield. I slao have the door stickers and a full bikini top to include. . . On Jan-16-15 at 16:40:42 PST. seller added the following information:please note. if you dont live in the Omaha area I would recomend that you tow or trailer this jeep home as the ride home on the interstate may take you twice as long. as this is a daily driver and been very reliable around town. I would not want to go screaming down I80 with it. and the fact that this has the 4cyl and steep gears it would be a slow go. So. please plan on having the jeep hauled to your location.
