" Beginning in 1965, the M715 was designed and developed by the Kaiser Jeep Corperation. Originally developed to replace the existing M37 series of light trucks, the M715 would become one of the most important trucks in the U.S. inventory. Utilized throughout the armed services, the M715 would become an indelible image of the American experience in Vietnam, as well as later military conflicts. During its service life the M715 would serve as a troop transport, ambulance, cargo transport, and mobile maintenance platform.
This is an amazingly original military issue Jeep M715 Kaiser with 18K original miles. These are very hard to find and I doubt you will see another this originaland unrestored. It was bought from military surplus and transported to a privately owned Island in the great lakes. It spent the rest of it's life as a work vehicle a few summer months a year on an Island that was only a mile long. It spent winters in their metal pole barn and was always winterized and very well cared for. About a year ago it was finally retired and shipped back to Columbus where it now resides. To make it a better road worthy vehicle It underwent a complete mechanical refurbishment and upgrade. The old manual brakes were not safe for today'straffic so they were removed and a new power brake system with all new lines cylinders and pads were installed. Now it stops on a dime. the carb was rebuilt. Much of the wiringreplaced to assure good lights and electricals. An aux. electric fuel pump wasadded to existing manual pump. The fuel tank and lines were removed and reconditioned. In all about $5,000 was spent to make it a reliable and safe vehicle. Any parts removed were saved and will be included with it.It now starts right up and runs as well as it did new. Only safer. It is very solid with only minimal rust and nothing that would need immediateattention. There was old repairs done years ago to the rockers and few small areas in the floors. However the main body panels and frame is very solid and only shows the typical surface rust underneath. The bed is also very solid with no signs of rust or repairs. If it's going to be driven very far it will need tires. They are very old although they hold air and have good tread. The top is in tact but has a few holes. It can be used as is indefinitely or turned into what ever the next owner desires. It would be perfect for a complete authentic restoration or easily made into an incrediblerock crawler. there are not many convertible 4 wheel drive pick ups in the world and none as cool as these. The transmission and engine are in great shape and original to the Jeep. Please call and ask questions or set up an inspection prior to bidding or making an offer. I have listed dozens of vehicles on ebay and everyone of them has sold through eBay with 100% positivefeedback. the one should be no different. I fully intend for it to sell and for that sale to result in a happy new owner. I find the best way to assure this is through good communication. I can be reached at 614-352-3434. Please be advised this is actually a 1968. Identical in every way but thought bidders would want to know. The VIN is 20024 on the clear Ohio title. Please call with any questionsor concerns, 614-352-3434,or to come inspect it in person. As vintage 4x4's go it does not get any cooler than this. With vintage Broncos, Toyotas, Rovers and blazers shooting up in value this could be the best deal on the most unique 4x4 on the road.
