Up for sale is my 1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ! Make it your daily driver and /or take it off roading. I've never done any off roading with it, but it's my daily driver. Runs and drives great! 5 speed manual transmission that shifts nice. 138,372 original miles and counting. All gauges work ( * when it gets below freezing temps gas gauge temporarily stops working until Jeep warms up).Never had problems with transmission or engine. No leaks.4x4 works great as well. Heat works great, does have a cool air option (not ac) which blows cooler air,but that's why the top and doors come off. It has the updated Weber Carburetor. The body is pretty much rust free with light surface rust (discoloration)below on leaf springs for example. It has the cool factory hard topthat comes right off, and it comes with the soft blackhalf top kit (with hardware), half doors andheavy duty greytarp. It has the RC8 Winch By Smittybilt that works great. I added rocker guards and fender flares. This Jeep is made out of real metal.
Tires are in good shape with a ton of tread left in them. Cd Player and CB Radio. After market heavy duty center console. Seats are original. With that being said this Jeep has a good amount of originality in it. Be warned, you will get a lot of heads turning especially with little kids jaw dropping as if your some kind of super hero lol. This Jeep has a lot of potential for more modifications even though it looks great as is. There's a Jeep saying the goes " You may be faster, but I can go anywhere". Reason for selling is because my wife and Iaregonna travel the country in a truck camper. It's gonna be hard to let it go, but someone else canenjoy it instead of it being stored.
I am not claiming it to be perfect (even though it is to my wife and I ) but it's been well taken care of and in really good shape for the year overall. I'll throw in a set of four brand new leaf springs for you to install if you want. I never got the time to install them.Igot it from thepreviousowner whenI purchased the Jeep. I was told that it should give it another inch lift. * Btw the current leaf springs on the Jeep are still good.
I'll also throw in a brand new FlowMaster muffler that I purchased for the Jeep, but never installed because I ended up liking the sound of the muffler that's on there.
We sure hope the next owner enjoys it and takes care of it as much as we do!
I made a video walk through/around. It's on YouTube- Ebay won't let me share the link so message me if you want the link. ORtype in google search in the exact words -- lifes a nomad jeep wrangler for sale youtube -- video should come up.
Things to note : Driver seat back rest frame is a little weak, it tends to bend back a little and the seat doesn't swivel back and forth for height adjustment. It does flip up so someone can hop in the back. The seat is currently pushed in all the way back, and being 6 ft. tall its at the right spot for me so its not a big deal to me, and that's why I haven't messed with the seat. Overall the seats are original and in good shape with no rips or tears.
The Jeep got backed up into a poleat slow speed and hit the spare tire which made a small dent on the trunk door, now I make sure the trunk door is locked at all times while driving since it tends to open sometimes while driving when not locked. The dent is not obvious and the trunk door still functions good.
The carburetor has given me hiccupsin the past with mainly trying to find the right settings on the choke/idle/housing. When it's freezing out, it's harder to start so it takes a few more gas pumps to get it going, once I do I let it idle to warm up the engine before I take off.I've been tinkering with the carb settingsrecently andit's been starting right upin colder temps lately no problems.LikeI said a newer weber carb has been installed by the previous owner a couple of years ago.SomeJeepers I know just switch over to fuel injection so they don't have to deal with carbs, but it's allpersonal preference.---Just wanna throw that out there.
I had a bad U joint that broke off while driving at slow speeds. The only damage that occurred was when the driveshafthit the muffler once the u joint came off and left a dent with a couple of small holes in it. I patched up the holes, but have never had any problems with the muffler or the drive performance.
There's brake dustthat comes outfrom the front wheels. With that being said I've never had problems with the brakes, they work great!
Driver side doorsometimes takes a little key wiggling and jiggling to get the door unlocked from the outside.
