Car description

Nothing says, "I'll go anywhere" quite like a Jeep CJ7, especially one with substantial upgrades under the skin. More power, more suspension, and a full restoration make this 1981 Jeep CJ7 Laredo the ultimate way to get dirty. It might just be the most recognizable vehicle in the entire world. It has been on every continent and crossed the most forbidding land on the planet. Even more than 40 years after it arrived on the scene, the evergreen Jeep kept its rugged good looks. Someone has kept up with this one, maintaining it as-needed over the course of its three decades, before finally restoring it back to glory a few years ago. CJ7s were notorious for rusting, particularly around the rear of the body, but this one was spared that fate thanks to a lifetime spent in warm and sunny Texas and Georgia. The burgundy paint isn't show-quality, but it is nice enough that it turns heads, and you'll think twice about plunging into the brush with it, although you'll definitely have the hardware to get wherever you need to go. Upgrades include chrome bumpers and grille, a full-size spare tire mounted out back, and, of course, the "LAREDO" graphics on the sides of the hood.WWII GIs would have killed for an interior like this in their Jeeps, but it remains simple and durable in the best off-roading tradition. New black bucket seats look expensive and upscale, gripping you tightly when you're rocking around in the dirt. The dash has all the original gauges, yet it has a custom look that's still 100% Jeep. Surprisingly, this Jeep also offers a tilt steering column, a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo system, and an aftermarket center console, so it's not a hardship to drive it daily. A professionally applied undercoated floor with protective mats and a burgundy color-matched roll bar give it a go-anywhere feel, and there's no denying that it's still basic and rugged. For inclement weather, there's also a brand new full soft top and full steel doors.Mechanically, this Jeep is virtually invincible. Most Jeepers prefer the 4.2 liter inline-six powerplant, which is torquey and as reliable as a hammer. It was all rebuilt a few years ago and properly maintained ever since, although there are a few upgrades like a Weber carburetor. The engine bay is tidy and doesn't look like it's been submerged or driven in the really abrasive stuff like many other Jeeps, and there are plenty of signs that someone loved this CJ. The 4-speed manual transmission hooks to a 2-speed transfer case and heavy-duty axles, so it's certainly equipped to go into the rough stuff without a complaint. New shocks, a modest suspension lift, and a correct, original-style single exhaust system all ensure reliability and a modicum of comfort anywhere you go. Handsome 15-inch chrome wheels wear big 33x12.50-15 BFGoodrich off-road tires that look so cool that you should keep them even if you never plan on going off the pavement. If you like playing in the dirt, this CJ7 Laredo is the right tool for the job. And even if you don't it has the right look and plenty of comfort to drive every day. Call now!
