1968 Jeep Kaiser M-715 Military Truck

The original owner was a carpenter and passed away, o I thought it would be fun to restore his old truck. I finally finished this week! I thought I would end up keeping it, ut right now we have five cars and although I will probably regret this I need to sell it to free up some space (and so I can start restoring my Bronco!).Jeep-Kaiser made around 33,000 of these in 67-69 for the military as a sort of modular chassis that could be used for different purposes. This one wound up in Cleveland National Forest as a forestry truck for a long time before being bought by the last owner. I have some of the old papers still.It's a great, nique truck and I get compliments almost every time I take it out. It drives solid and is *not* a project truck. You will never see anyone else out on the road driving the same thing.Some stats: Dana 60 front axle Dana 70 rear axle 5.87 gear ratio for great offroading 37" Goodyear MT Tires, ilitary surplus from Hummer H1s (Only run about $100 each!) Chevy 350 V8 w/ Carter AFB carburetor TH400 automatic transmission Four wheel drive (of course!) 12v electrical upgrade Power steering! Fiberglass cab top is removable Dual fuel tanks Freshwater tank and pump onboard Aftermarket toolbox bed similar to the M726 (hugely convenient) The bad: Rust in some areas, ee pics and video. It is minimal for a fifty year old truck but please see for yourself. Front tires have visible cracking, ut have held up fine on street and highway use all year. Rear tires are in great shape. Windshield has two or three star cracks about an inch in diameter. They don't interfere with driving. Freshwater pump does not work. Planned on replacing with $30 one from Amazon. Reverse lights are not wired up. Power steering line or pump has a slow leak. Fill it up once a month or so. This has kept the front end drivetrain oily and rust free! This truck marks its territory. The speedometer works, ut reads way higher than it should. It is original. I don't know if the fuel tank selector switch works. I only use the main fuel tank. The good: New silicone vacuum lines Carb was just rebuilt Fluids have been changed New spark plugs New hard and soft brake lines New wheel cylinders Brake drums just checked, leaned, nd lubed New upgraded dual master cylinder New steering wheel (cool old handmade one is included!) New water temp gauge New transfer case temp gauge New radiator, pgraded from stock New 'AOOOGA' horn New bench seat cover New LED taillights New windshield wipers New air filter New tachometer New stereo with aux input and speakers New PCVs New battery All body seams have been stripped and resealed with quality 3m sealer New weatherstripping on all toolboxes CURRENTLY REGISTERED!!! I paid all the fees up last month! You will have NO surprises at the DMV. Registered in California and SMOG EXEMPT!
