Car description

I am offering my 1967 Jeep CJ5 up for sale. I have always loved these old Jeeps and so I bought this one about 4 years ago and figured that I was going to build the sweetest one that I had ever seen. I love the fact that this has the Buick V6 motor (which for those of you that don't know, t is the early version of what became the 3800 motor which is one of the best motors ever built!). I also was drawn in by the fact that this has an automatic transmission which is tough to find in a older Jeep. When I bought the Jeep it was red in color and it had the full convertibletop on it with doors. I still have the top and doors, ut they are not in great shape. I do however have a very nice bikini top for it that is in like new condition. I paintedit this screaming green color which I think looks awesome and gets attentioneverywhere I go!The body is still original sheet metal except for the front fenders which are fiberglass. It was not a rust bucketwhen I bought it, ut it did have some rust and so it does have a few patch panels. The worst rust was on the frontfenders so that's why I replaced them. Ialso put the wide fender flares on it which I personally think looks way cooler than the stock tiny ones. It has 35 inch tires that still have alot of life left in them though there is some sidewall cracking but I have never had a problem with them losing air. This Jeep drives better than ANYJeep that I have ever driven. You can take your hand off the steering wheel and drive 1/4 milewithout ever touching the wheel. Most Jeeps that I have driven are hard to keep on the roadand are scary when you hit a bump, OT THIS ONE!!! The brakes work fine although the pedal is very hard (it barely has any travel) and I always allow plenty of time to stop. I did remove the drums and look at the brakes and everything looked fairly new and in very good shape. There is a lot of chrome work on this beauty (drive shafts, arking brake, ifferential covers, il pan, alve covers, lternator, tc...) to name a few. The floor has been bedlined with Herculiner which makes for very easy cleaning. The seats are in pretty good shape, hough not perfect. The gauges are all original and I believe that they all work although I never hooked up several of them after painting the dash. I believe that I only hooked up the speedometer and oil pressure gauges but when I bought it, he gauges were hooked up and working. I had lots of plans as to what I was going to do with her, ut to be honest, just don't have any time to enjoy it. It just sits in the garage along with my other classics that also don't get enjoyed :( I have probably put less than 1000 miles on it in the 4 years that I have owned it. I have lots of additional parts for it as well that will go with the Jeep (side steps, ff road lights, ight bar, tc...). I also bolted a 4 barrelHolley carburetor with adapter plate on it so that I could drive it while I sent the original carb in for rebuilding, ut I still haven'thadit done yet, o the original carb will of coarse come with the Jeep as well. I believe that the Holley carb is way too big for this engine and so the engine does "load up" upon heavy acceleration. The engine starts great and runs okay but needs theoriginal carb put back onfor correctair/fuel mixture. It has a Pertronix ignition system on it.Overall, think the Jeep is in great shape, specially forbeing almost 50 years old, ut it is not perfect. The odometer reads 49,xxx miles but I do not know if that is original or not.The paint is very nice except for 1 spot in the rear where the paintcracked. I took a picture of this so you can see it. The interior is pretty nice. The engine compartment looks pretty good. Mechanically it is in very good condition. Trans shifts great, wd works fine. By far, he worst thing mechanically is the loading up of the motor which I believe is just a case of the carb being too large and I believewill be solved by rebuilding and installing the original carb. The wipers work fine. The headlights and tail lights work fine (new led tail lights). The brake lights work, ut I usually disconnect the brake light switch because it will stick in the on position sometimes and drain the battery. I never hooked up the turn signals because I had planned on putting in a billet steering column so I just use hand signals. The exhaust sounds pretty cool with just the open side pipes. It's not obnoxious but it's not quiet either. This Jeep is ready forits new owner tofinish it to their likingand complete the perfect Jeep, r just drive itlike I did. Feel free to ask any additional questions and I will do my best to answer them. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!
