Comments: This is a superb car. 1966 Jaguar 3.8-S Saloon in gorgeous Opalescent Maroon with a tan interior and knock-off wire wheels. Completely gone though only 4000 miles ago starting with an excellent original car. Runs, rives, looks spectacular. Has the class and luxury of a vintage Jaguar sedan, he power and sport of an XKE, he alloy 3.8 liter twin carb DOHC engine and 4 speed manual transmission, nd the soft supple ride of a Rolls Royce. The driving experience is truly special. The engine was professionally rebuilt by Faithful Automotive Services in Huntington, Y including a .20 over bore, new 9:1 pistons, new rod and main bearings, new cams, new timing gears, new timing chain, nd tensioners, achine & polish the crankshaft, achine and polish the head and a complete valve job. total labor time was over 130 hours and over $10,000 spent on the engine alone and the additional parts bill exceed $4,000. Top quality work is not inexpensive but the results are indeed top quality. runs perfectly and like new. A new clutch and resurfaced flywheel was installed and the four speed manual gear box rebuilt. The rear end was also gone though and resealed. This car starts right up and settles into a smooth quite idle. There are no mechanical issues. No smoke, o leaks, o noises, nd it runs perfectly on premium unleaded. Accelerates like a 327 V-8 Chevrolet, oticeably more powerful than a 280 SE Mercedes 4.5 V-8! With immediate throttle response from the twin SU carburetors, ots of torque that progresses into a super strong mid range, nd a top speed of over 120 MPH! The four speed manual transmission shifts perfectly and with the over drive electronically actuated by a lever on the steering column cruises comfortably at 75-85 MPH. The ride is soft and supple with excellent control. Not floaty or loose like contemporary American cars of the period. the power rack and pinion has excellent road feel and the 4 wheel disc brakes stop with authority. Which also have been completely gone though as well. This car stops with authority! Exceptionally nice driving car. the interior has been restored with new tan leather seats front and rear. With the solid walnut dash and door trim stained and re-varnished. The gauges were rebuilt and all work properly. the original wool carpet is present and has worn thin in several places. but is still in relatively good condition. the original telescoping steering wheel is excellent with no cracks, o faults, nd there is no sun fade on the dash or gauges. All lights, turn signals, indshield wipers, nd horn work properly. A premium Ken-wood stereo has been discretely installed and plays perfectly. All toggle switches work correctly and the two rear gas tanks are selected by the appropriate switch with the gas gauge correctly reading that tank's fuel level. The seats were re-cushioned prior to being recovered, hey are exceptionally comfortable. Both front and rear seats have fold down armrests. Exceptionally nice interior in the old world tradition of leather and wood. Very comfortable, ery classy, nd very charming. Excellent all steel body! the paint is correct Opalescent maroon and gorgeous. Done in an modern acrylic urethane base/clear coat and then block sanded, ubbed, nd polished to a deep luster. Opalescent maroon is a lovely color with a silver base coat that provides a candy-like effect in bright sunlight. this was a windows out chrome off respray and is superb! Excellent glass and all windows operate smoothly including the two swing windows located in the rear doors. All new weather stripping, ubber moldings, nd trunk seal. Exceptional chrome front and rear bumpers, ront grill and Jaguar hood ornament and what a lovely grille! Chrome wire wheels fitted with P205-70-R15 Dunlap white wall radials. the trunk contains the original floor mat, pare tire, nd jack assembly. Professionally detailed and hand waxed. Turn key ready for shows and elegant driving! A very very nice car! We have a folder with receipts and a 50+ page written narrative from the previous owner is included. This car came to us from a Rolls-Royce/Bentley dealership in North Carolina after the elderly owner passed away and the family traded it in on a new Rolls-Royce. It is one of the nicest I've seen in years and is even nicer than the red one at January before lasts at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction that sold for $110,000! Also remember we can facilitate shipping right to your door. We also take anything of value on trade and can obtain financing with almost new car rates!! What that means is the car of your dreams can very easily turn into a reality!
