Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very decent Series One E-type 4.2 Liter Coupe for restoration. This car was just purchased from an East Coast dealer who purchased it from the state of Mississippi. This car is the final year of production for the full Series One model that retained all of the car's original features. It's considered the most desirable of the 4.2's with only the first half of the 1967 cars retaining their desirable glass headlamp covers. This car left the factory in Primrose yellow with black trim, and was painted at one point in it's current white. The car appears to be fairly complete overall with some extra spares. It appears to be pretty much unrestored and largely never disassembled, which is a big plus when performing a ground-up restoration. The car is fitted with a correct but non-matching 4.2 Liter E-type engine (with it's matching block and head) and is numbered only 550 units later than the original factory unit. The gearbox is an earlier but correct full-syncromesh 4.2 E-type unit. The body on this car looks very decent overall with some light to medium repairable damage to the RH fender, bonnet nose, and driver door. All of the panels can be metal-worked out and retained. The car's undercarriage looks very solid overall with really good bones to build a nice car out of. The car's front subframe set looks excellent and straight. The car's original bonnet is still fitted and the gapping when closed is quite decent and even. The original front picture frame has been cut for engine removal and needs replacement. The car includes a host of rare and original literature that is seldom seen and was supplied with the car from new, probably worth $1500 in total. It also includes the original factory data plate still attached. There are boxes of loose original parts and some new that are included with the car.Overall, an exciting, valuable, and desirable Series One 4.2 Liter E-type Coupe project that appears to be quite solid and complete. This will make a fantastic car once finished. The supply of these cars at this modest buy-in price is drying up.
