Car description

Gorgeous, one-owner XKE 2+2 Coupe finished in all original Black paint and Tan Leather interior! Only 41,000 original miles, and wonderfully equipped with automatic transmission, working air conditioning, all number's matching drive train, dual sport mirrors, AM/FM/8-track radio, and more! Always properly serviced, garage kept, and lovingly maintained since day one! A remarkable find!
The Jaguar XKE was already one of the most beautiful and striking cars ever created, but could only accommodate 2 passengers at a time, like its XK predecessor. Back at the drawing board, Jaguar engineers designed a new 2+2 coupe, which quickly became a third choice for buyers on dealer showrooms by 1966! With a redefined roofline that was 2" higher, a 9" longer body, a more upright front windshield, and the option for an automatic transmission, it made the 2+2 quite roomy, more practical, and very desirable for sports car minded buyers needing room for a family!
This superbly survived 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 2+2 Coupe is finished in its original, factory applied color of Black over all original Tan leather interior! its original 4.2L Inline 6-cylinder DOHC engine with triple SU carburetion and Borg Warner automatic transmission, this Jaguar has never been modified in any way! Additional options include air conditioning; chrome 72-spoke wire spoke wheels, Michelin X Radial 185-15 tires, dual Talbot-style racing mirrors on the bonnet, AM/FM/8-Track Stereo radio, wood steering wheel, leather-wrapped shifter housing, original 1966 date-coded Hickok/Jaguar front seatbelts, fold down rear seat, optional rear window defogger, hazard light switch, upgraded front & rear bumper guards, and front license plate bracket.
The Series I Jaguar E-Type offers many characteristics that appeal to Jaguar collectors and enthusiasts alike. These include the popular covered headlamps, classic toggle switches on the dash, push-button starter, small front grill opening, and low back sport seats! The later generation Series I's received power and performance enhancements that came about in 1965 and carried through 1967. This meant a 20% larger displacement 4.2L engine providing more torque, and max horsepower at an earlier RPM. The manual transmissions became fully synchromesh (with automatic transmissions offered in 1966), radiators were given an electric cooling fan, and generators were replaced for alternators utilizing negative earth charging systems for the first time.
The Jaguar featured here was delivered new in March 24th, 1967 and has never been restored, bearing only one careful owner ever since! It retains its original paint, beautiful original leather interior, and all number's matching drive train! It was purchased by Theodore Gamble for his lovely wife from Dyer Motors Inc. in Elmhurst, NY and later driven to their home in St. Louis, MO. It would be the first Jaguar she would own, but one of three she would come to collect over the years. The others offered from our inventory are a 1986 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas and a 1987 XJ-S V12 Coupe. This represents a truly unique opportunity to purchase a survival quality example with just 41,081 original miles! Complete with matching spare tire, tool kit, operating handbook, 2+2 supplement manual, warranty certificate, dealership directory, maintenance/lubrication chart, air conditioning insert, and all original Triplex glass, it should make for a terrific driver investment as well as a certain show stopper for survivor class judging at any JCNA Concours event!
Having been quietly stored for some time in recent years in her heated garage, it was fully inspected once to our service facility. We elected to replace the front brake calipers with rebuilt units & turned the rotors, installed a new brake master cylinder, booster hoses, and brake reservoir caps & sensors. All brake fluid was flushed for new. Additionally, the fuel tank was completely flushed, fitted with a new fuel screen & fuel filter, while the sending unit and pump were checked for proper performance. Under the bonnet, this stunning Jaguar received new spark plugs, fresh engine oil/filter & new drain plug; new air filter, new auxiliary electric puller fan to enhance the a/c performance, a new battery, new ball joint boots & clips, and fresh sway bar bushings. It still starts, runs, and drives quite faithfully today! The air conditioning has been properly maintained and continues to perform wonderfully! It is now configured for modern R134a refrigerant and blows unbelievably cold!
The bodylines and gaps are tight atop a strong chassis and frame. It is believed the chrome wire wheels were replaced for new Dayton replacements in the mid-1980's. They continue to appear as new with all four wheels spin-balanced in April 2020. It has been very well cared for and always garaged indoors when not in use. The body tags, engine & head stamp, and frame VIN stamp remain original and untouched. This will make for a splendid addition to any collection, and we recommend acting quickly before this one secures its second owner! Our cars are offered on multiple forums and will be sold as-is with a clear title to the first astute buyer! Please do not hesitate to call with further questions or requests. Thanks for looking!
