Car description |
---|
I always strive for preservation and originality. This car was in hand of most gentle and loving person, who cared for the car, from day one. The car was purchased new by the previous owner in October 1966 at Ralph L. Bolen Oldsmobile in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is said to have been driven regularly before being put into storage in 1992. It was removed from storage and recommissioned in November 2016 by the original owner. Work included an overhaul of the carburetors, fuel system cleaning, a brake system refresh, and the replacement of the exhaust system, clutch hydraulics, coolant lines, spark plugs, and points. New knock-off wire wheels and tires were also installed.
The dark blue leather interior features matching seat belts and carpets, as well as Series I-specific toggle switches and a black textured dash. The factory Blaupunkt radio remains in place but is not working.A 3-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer. The speedometer works but is said to need service as it is not accurate, and the tach is not functioning. The 4.2L twin-cam inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors and is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car was recommissioned in November 2016. The work included an overhaul of the carburetors, a fuel system cleaning, the installation of new coolant lines and coolant, an oil/filter change, and the replacement of the clutch master and slave cylinders, spark plugs, and points.
Additional work in November 2016 included a brake system refresh that consisted of cleaning the front calipers, fitting replacement brake hoses, and flushing the fluid. A new stainless steel exhaust system was also installed at that time.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the the build date, serial numbers, and color combination. The original maintenance voucher booklet, warranty card, and registration tag are included along with the original tool kit and wire wheels.
I am open to real offers and will gladly end the auction if agreement can be reached, therefore I reserve to end the auction early.I have the title to the car in my name with no lien on the vehicle. The car does not leave my possession until I have confirmation of the funds clearing my account.
