California and Arizona Classic Jaguar in Excellent Condition

This 1990 Jaguar XJS Convertible is finished in Signal Red over Barley Connolly leather interior with a matching Barley covered soft convertible top with black cover for use when the top is down. The car was imported into the Jaguar West Coast port and shipped to British Car Distributors on Van Ness in San Francisco where it sold to its first owner. Through information from the previous owner, I have been told that the car had always been in the San Francisco/San Jose area its entire life until 2011 when it then moved to Orange County. From there it has resided in Arizona.

The car had always been serviced and maintained at the Jaguar dealership, while in California, never skimping on maintenance. The car has a newer factory correct convertible. This was installed prior to my taking ownership of the car in 2015. This XJS has only traveled 79,300 miles from brand new and still looks absolutely beautiful. I have personally added just over 800 miles in my time as owner. The Signal Red paint is all original and looks gorgeous, the paint still retains a beautiful shine and finish and is free from any fading or peeling except for one small spot on the hood, approximately 1.5" X 2" where the paint is slightly faded and can be seen in certain lights. This imperfection is in the photos. The body of the car is near perfect and completely rust free. I have tried to photograph anything that is noticeable to more than the casual observer. All of the exterior chrome is still in outstanding condition with the exception of some small dings around the fender chrome. This has also been photographed. All of the rubber and glass still look to be completely original and all outstanding condition free from any scrapes or pitting.

The original Connolly leather interior is gorgeous showing very minimal wear. The driver's seat bolster shows very little wear and completely free from any discoloration or rips. The driver's seat just shows very light creasing, but still has very soft and supple leather and has been treated and maintained during my ownership. The passenger seat looks excellent and only shows very small wear marks. All of the wood is original and still retains a very nice consistent color. There are small cracks, with no peeling at the lower section of the center console. The carpets look beautiful and are stain and tear free with an extra set of Coco Floor Mats. The interior trim and switchgear are all intact and free from any damage or wear.

All of the electronics are working properly, all of the interior and exterior lights work, the convertible top goes up and down and in sync with the rear power windows. Both windows work along with both driver and passenger mirrors. The driver and passenger heated seats appear to be working and along with the cruise control.

The AC is blowing ice cold on all of the fan speeds, the heater is working as it should, and the original Jaguar radio, with code, is still intact and working alongside the original working power antenna.The XJS still retains its original factory chrome lattice sport wheels, and tires are nearly brand new and correct.

Mechanically this XJS is fantastic, it starts right up and runs and drives like a Jaguar V-12 should. It has endless amount of power and is incredibly smooth. In addition to regular service, and not many miles ago, it had a full AC service and major tune-up. I have $10,398.94 in fairly recent receipts. It idles beautifully and without any smoke or hesitation. The transmission goes into gear without any problems and shifts very smooth. The brakes are excellent and precise without any fade or grinding.The steering and suspension are nice and tight and free from any drifting, vibrations or noises. If you are looking for an exceptionally well maintainedXJS Convertible in beautiful original condition this is it. The car is accompanied by its original owner's manuals in its original green leather binder with its original Jaguar cut keys. Also has its original matching spare tire with its original jack. This car comes with a clear and clean title in my name. I have four other Jaguars in my collection (MK IV, E-Type, XJ6, and XJ12L) that are each lovingly maintained by a private Jaguar mechanic at my home, where they are stored in a climate-controlled garage with lift. I have partial records from the previous owner, the original window sticker and manuals, full records from my ownership. Potential buyers are welcome to talk to the mechanic.

This is a great vehicle that needs a new home. While not in showroom new condition, it is an excellent shape and far above average for 29 years old.
