Car description

The first XK120s arrived in the U.S. in August 1949, delivered to distributors Max Hoffman in New York and Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles. Their sensuous flowing lines, 3.4-liter DOHC engines, and sparkling performance created a sensation that endures today. There were 7,631 roadsters built from 1949 to 1954 and 2,678 coupes between 1951 and 1954. The elegant, weather-tight drophead coupe arrived last, with 1,769 (1,472 LHD) produced until 1954.This stunning example was built March, 10th 1954 and then delivered... to Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles and bought by JG Anwiler on April 2nd 1954 .The current owner of the car commissioned a full and complete restoration of the vehicle. Over 4 years of time were invested in restoring the car to its stunning show quality condition. It shows 52,941 believed original miles. It is finished in the stunning and timeless color of British Racing Green with a rich Cognac leather interior with a burl walnut dash and door caps. Attention to detail is evident throughout the vehicle. From the excellent panel fit, the paint finish, the rich and warm interior, all of the chrome and trim, to the polished aluminum cylinder heads and porcelain finished exhaust manifold. The XK120 is a breathtaking design and this car exemplifies the marque. The car comes with its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate as well as a complete set of tools. All of the mechanicals were fully gone through and rebuilt during the restoration process including the original engine block still in the car today. This XK120 DHC drives as great as it looks and comes from a well respected and knowledgeable southern California Jaguar collector with an impressive Jaguar collection. No doubt, this would be an exciting and absolutely stunning Jaguar to drive into the California sunset.
