Car description |
---|
I've owned this 1985 Jaguar XJ6 VDP since March of 2013 and purchased it for $7500.00 from a private seller who in turn had purchased the vehicle from a Jaguar collector/restorer. Vehicle was originally titled in PA when I bought the car; then in TN when I moved. It's currently held in my estate trust along with all my other vehicles. It is my understanding that this vehicle was in the process of being completely restored before being sold to the individual I purchased it from, but then he elected to purchase another Jaguar. He was an avid Jaguar enthusiast and did most of the repairs himself is my understanding. I believe that the seller I purchased the vehicle from knew the individual who sold it to him, but I cannot remember exactly.
The previous owners kept all receipts of work done to the vehicle since 2006, which to date, totals more than $10,500. I cannot list every single repair performed or item replaced, but I went through all the paperwork and added up every receipt. Some repairs/maintenance I've noted over the years:
Intake manifold, heat shield, stakedown kit work performed
Vehicle was sandblasted and completely repainted in June 2008 totaling $4000.00
Shocks and springs installed in August 2008
Brake work
A/C work
New radiator
Exhaust work
Fuel pumps
Starter
Wood dash kit installed
Tires installed in January 2008, so they will need replacing.
New cooling hose recently installed
New battery installed 12/2016
Vehicle has always had regular oil changes.
I've done very little to the car since I've owned it. I'm not new to Jaguar ownership and have enjoyed owning several Series III XJ6s. I'm selling because I really never drive the car anymore and I don't want it to just sit. I have several other Jaguars and recently purchased another vehicle to replace my daily driver. It has an antique tag on it and is only driven on Saturdays, if at all, during the warmer months. Please note, this is a very old car and has wear and tear for a vehicle of its age.
· The leather interior has lots of dry rot and cracking - especially the front driver's seat.
· Vehicle has a relatively new headliner
· Antenna is not connected and does not work; it was this way when I purchased it
· A/C does not blow cold; recharge?
· There are some scratches on the sunroof where dirt got in the tracks and caused some abrasions when it was in operation.
· All power windows except for the left, rear passenger's side recently stopped working
· Only one gas tank is operable due to a tiny hole in the other one.
I've tried to describe everything I know about the vehicle since I've owned it. Car idles beautifully, starts up after a few cranks from sitting, and drives great - it's very smooth on the highway. Engine is strong and transmission shifts as it should, steering is tight. Clean carfax. No reserve auction. No warranties expressed, written or implied. Vehicle is sold as-is, where-is. Do not bid on vehicle if you do not intend on following through with your purchase. Non-payments will be reported to eBay.
The photos are ones I took when I purchased the car. It's currently being stored for the winter and not being driven.
