This 1956 Jaguar XK140 SE coupe was purchased from its third owner in Los Angeles, California on July 22, 2014
This is a numbers-matching example, this example is powered by its factory 3.4-liter DOHC straight-six and 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. It is sold with a three-page written statement from the owner, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, documentation covering the last 50 years, spare parts, and a clean title. This XK140 reportedly retains its original British Racing Green finish. This car has always been garaged. The car has spent all but four years of its life in California.
Over the years the dual exhaust mufflers were replaced, the exhaust tips were chrome-plated, and the brakes remain in strong condition with silicone DOT-5 fluid.
The interior is original down to the factory carpeting, and leather upholstery shows several tears. The original headliner is in good shape.
All instrumentation is functional aside from the clock.
Under the hood, this XK retains its numbers-matching 3.4 liter DOHC straight-six and 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
Additional documentation consists of hand-written maintenance and fuel consumption logs back to 1967, nearly 50 years of sales receipts, all original Jaguar shop and parts manuals, and numerous Jaguar books.
