When you think of a classic sports car, a few pop into your mind, I'm guessing the Jaguar XKE is one of them It embodies the image of class and status of someone who has arrived and arrived in style. There is something about the lines of the XKE that is very sexy and most defiantly she. The curves and style of a beautifulwoman, if MarilynMonroe was a car, she would have been a Jaguar XKE. That said, what we have here is a 1969 Jaguar XKE series 2 convertible, an E type with matching numbers, it is an older restoration, has less than 48,000 original miles on it. The car is mechanically sound, and a good Driver Car, it isn't a show car, but is in good shape, with some TLC and it could be a wonderful addition to your family. We've had this beauty a short while, it is long low and sexy, those are the best words to describe this car. We bought it to drive around town while on brief business trips at our Tennessee location. It is an older restoration and is documented in a laminated binder with service receipts and pictures from the previous owner of almost 40 years. Be real, when most baby boomer's think of a Sports Car, we think Jaguar XKE, there is an aura and romance that surrounds this vehicle and just the name Jaguar XKE speaks volumes about this legendary car. It is if not the number 1 Classic Sports Car, it is very near the top of the list. We are only selling to make room in our warehouse and hate to see it go. You can get in this car and drive it with no problems while taking care of the few things that it needs. In the short time, we have had this car, this is what we learned about its condition. It has the typical door dings, that is, where jerks open their doors too wide without care and hitting the side of the jag, no paint chipping though. Otherwise, the body is in very good shape and virtually rust free looks like it was repainted at one time in the original color. Under the battery tray is the only patched bodywork we found. Paint is good with some touched up chips here and there but polishes up nicely. Trunk with the spare is in really good shape and just has surface oxidation. The interior is very good. The supple black leather seats, panels, and sills have no rips or tears. Gauges work, console and dash are good shape. We had a bad oil gauge and installed a matching Smiths 100 PSI oil pressure gauge, but still, have original Smiths 60 PSI unit. The rubber weather seals are intact but are showing age. We also added an underhood oil pressure gauge, we found it a handy item to have. Since the first post, we have done a few more things to the car, such as picking up a brand new steering wheel. We got it with an aftermarket Kenwood stereo with subwoofer.Turn signals do not work and need repair. We did not troubleshoot the turn signals. The convertible top is O.K. with a very clear rear window. The only issue is wear marks, close to being holes, on both sides where it appears the frame is rubbing. Spoke wheels with Coker redline tires are in very good condition and drives straight with no vibrations. The 6 cyl 4.2L engine is pretty clean and runs exceptionally well. Basic tune up was done, new E3 spark plugs, it comes with an extra set. Recent oil/filter change. The engine sounds great and has good oil pressure, it maintains between 20-50 lbs. The exhaust sings a mellow tone and still looks brand new. A quick turn of the key and the car starts easy and runs great.
