Car description

This is an amazing original MKII! The second owner who is a friend brought this to the midwest in the late 80's, it only accumulated about 2,000 miles, only on dry days, until it was placed in a garage in 1991, and than seek a new owner, as the current owner is no longer driving. I was asked to bring it back to life a little over a year ago. The intent was to ensure it would run, drive and stop. As such it has had all brake cylinders, master cylinder, brake rotors, and booster replaced. The carbs were gone through and both the radiator and fuel tank were cleaned, and confirmed in top condition. The vehicle also has a new fuel pump and a new stainless exhaust system. The tires are P6's with less than 1,000 miles on them!
The interior is vinyl, and in amazing condition, as is the original carpet! The wood is checked, but looks the part of a 1967! The paint appears to have had a light respray sometime in the 80's, but is holding up well. I have been through the vehicle and it appears the paint was done due to Arizona fading, as there is no rust on the vehicle. There are a couple of spots near the battery terminals that are rough, presumed due to terminal corrosion at sometime in its history!
When I brought the vehicle back to life, I was amazed that every electric component works perfectly, with the exception of the windshield washer, and the aforementioned fuel pump. The washer tank will need to be replaced as the leather strap failed at some point and the tank came in contact with the exhaust manifold, creating modern art reminiscent of Dali.
The vehicle will need a bit more fine tuning and refinement, but I did not want to go too far with such an original car, it can truly be classified as surviving original!
There has been much debate over whether this is a 3.4 or a 340, it was late in the production run for 1967 with a date of April 19, 1967 and a dispatch date of 1968. With that said, the heritage certificate lists it as a MKII 3.4. The engine is numbers matching to the chassis, however the Borg Warner is not. The original tool kit and leather wrap is present, however the philips screw driver insert has been lost to history.
While you may find a MKII for less money (and some much more) you would be hard pressed to get one to this level for less money, and it would not have the originality!
