ONE OWNER - 1983 JAGUAR XJ - WITH ONLY 74,000 ORIGINAL MILES OFTEN CONSIDERED THE WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL LUXURY SEDAN PURCHASED & OWNED SINCE 1983 IN METRO ATLANTA, GEORGIA Background...A Georgia attorney with a taste for beautiful automobiles had his eye on Jaguars for many years and finally made the decision in December 1982 to reward himself with this stunning 1983 Jaguar XJ in Racing Green Metallic with the sophisticated "Biscuit" (Tan) interior. NO food, NO drink, and NO kids were allowed in the car...and it shows! Aside from a very high quality repaint 10-years ago (with extensive trim removal and "bare metal" prep for most of the car) the car is likely one of the most original XJs of this era in existence. Key items of interest with this car include... - Highly desirable HDN - Racing Green Metallic finish
- Amazingly well cared for ADE - Biscuit (Tan) leather interior
- Famed wood dash is beautifully preserved
- Beautiful Jaguar Alloy Wheels
- Very high originality throughout...a collector's dream
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA EXCELLENT INVESTMENT - Jaguar started a legend when the first XJ was introduced in 1968. It was famously judged "best car in the world" by one notable automobile magazine, and this opinion was seconded by many. Each series that followed was faithful to the original's styling themes, but brought new sophistication, comfort, and reliability. By 1983, the XJ was well into its Series III run. Even today, the XJ is recognized as one of the world's finest luxury-class sedans...a reputation now 50 years strong with the introduction of the 2018 models. Collectors rarely get a chance to purchase a car this well-maintained and original. THE "ONE OWNER" ADVANTAGE - among collector cars, there is really nothing like the "one owner car". The original owner remembers the investment he made, he remembers the excitement and pride of ownership attendant to the original purchase. He remembers that first drive home...and how good the car looked in his driveway. He cares for the car in a way that is quite different than the typical "used car" owner. Oddly enough....as the years go by....he still thinks of the car as "his new Jaguar XJ". Only someone who really loves and cherishes a car would ever keep it - and maintain it - for 34 years. That's the advantage of the rarely found "one owner" classic car. THE FIRST 12 PICTURES will give you a general overview of this truly special Jaguar XJ, but if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image...and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR, the "Click to View Image Album" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images! Over 2,800 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've had over 2,800 transactions (both Buying and Selling) on eBay without a single complaint. One of the keys to our success is to show larger and more images than almost any other eBay listing...so you can clearly see what you are getting. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings. QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924 IMPERFECTIONS - NO car is perfect. Just because this XJ was exceptionally well-cared for and loved does not mean it is perfect. It is likely one of the nicest of this year/model/mileage extant...but there are imperfections. Please take a close look at ALL the images. The vast majority will show you how nice the car is, but because we put the camera everywhere we could think of...there are also flaws for you to see. OPERATIONAL REPORT - the car drives nice, and on the hot Atlanta day of the photoshoot, the AC cooled us impressively. Here are some items we noted that were not operational: Radio, rear left power window, window washers (could just need fluid), lighter, and one right rear lamp (see image of dash indicator and the lamp that's out at left - could just need a new bulb). The speed control, trip computer, and power sunroof were not tested. The sunroof had been operating very slowly and the owner was afraid it could get stuck in the "open" position. A bit of headliner stain around the sunroof suggests that seals may need replacing. This is the extent of non-working items we found. Currently, the car is only "exercised" locally - so tire replacement has not been an immediate concern. However, we highly recommend replacement of the tires before the car is driven a long distance or at high speeds as they are old and show signs of cracking on the tread surface (see image at left). PAYMENT DETAILS: Payment is due within 2-business days of auction's end via Bank to Bank wire transfer. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS are welcome, but MUST adhere to the SAME Payment Terms detailed above and also make all arrangements for the pick-up and importation of the Vehicle into the Buyer's country. ABOUT ME: I am an avid Classic Car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of Sales & Marketing in a Global 100 company, I began buying and selling Classic Cars and Collectibles as a collector, and also market collectible/investment vehicles for friends, fellow enthusiasts, and other clientele. Please Note: as of this date, we have had over 2,800 eBay transactions with 100% Positive Feedback...this includes the sale of many Classic Cars to Buyers all over the world, including Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Australia, Russia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States. IMPORTANT FINAL REMARKS: A Bill of Sale and clear signed-off Title will be provided. This Jaguar XJ is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability - stating and showing any defects we found - but oversights are possible. Therefore - before the auction's end - bidders are welcome to examine the vehicle in person. All sales are final. Only through continual maintenance and repair as needed, has this fine car survived for 34 years. Continued maintenance and repairs (often required without notice) should be anticipated by the new purchaser as this is consistent with the nature of owning and enjoying vintage classic automobiles. Please be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions because they relate important information too!
