Jaguar XK-120 Fixed Head Coupe

This California black plate, matching numbers XK-120 is a very good candidate for a comprehensive restoration. Since 1969, this Coupe has been off the road and kept in dry storage. The Jaguar was originally British Racing Green, and many years ago the owner changed the color to the Red that you see today; He also wanted to create a unique look with the exaust system's ends, by having them protrude out of the rear fenders on each side of the car - an often common enhancement during that era. In addition, the owner removed the dash drawer to accomodate a radio from the same era. Please note that outside of these enhancements the car remains in a very original state.

EXTERIOR: the Jaguar's exterior is very solid and straight, and would be easy to remove the paint and prepare for a new finish. The Britework is also original to the car and fits well.

INTERIOR: the interior on this example remains original, and shows patina throughout. The driver's seat as well as the driver's carpets are showing wear - but the remainder of the interior should clean up nicely, or may be replaced, the choice is yours.

MECHANICALS: Under the bonnet, the car has remained untouched, and even retains it's original brackets, clamps, panels, otter switch and more.

BODY: The Coupe's body is solid & straight, and will be easy to remove the paint and prepare for a new finish.

UNDERCARRIAGE: Underneath, the Coupe's undercarriage is just like the engine bay - untouched, very solid, and a great candidate for restoration.

Levels of restoration offered by Classic Showcase:

Driver Level Restoration:
A driver level car is generally a strong #2 car that can be driven on a regular basis. This is the most affordable of our three levels of restoration and is usually for the person who wants a reliable, beautiful classic car to drive. This car can be shown in driver level competitions.

Show-Driver Level Restoration:
A show-driver level car is a 96+ point or a high level #2 car. These cars are generally found in a climate controlled facility and driven to Concours judging and car shows. Components are original or a proper replacement.

Concours Level Restoration:

A show level car is a 99+ point or #1 car. These cars are generally not driven more than a few miles a year and found in a museum or collection. They may also be found in a climate controlled facility and transported in an enclosed trailer to Concours judging and car shows. All components are original or an exact replacement with attention to specific detail.

Preservation Level Restoration:
Classic Showcase is now offering a Preservation level of restoration for those that do not want to disturb the originality of their vehicle. This is a minimal restoration level that focuses more on cleaning the vehicle and safety requirements and usually will not receive very many replacement parts. This vehicle can be shown in Preservation level competitions but is not a guaranteed winner. Our goal is to preserve the original patina of the vehicle.

When are we available?
If you have any questions, ASK BEFORE YOU BID but please do not wait until the last minute. We are available to answer your questions Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. What if I am uncomfortable bidding? (About outside vehicle inspections)

Before you bid, we want you to feel comfortable making a long distance purchase. Please make an appointment to inspect the car yourself, send a representative or we can arrange for an outside pre-purchase inspection. Classic Showcase always recommends having an outside pre-purchase inspection done on a vehicle before the purchase. This allows you to gain an outside opinion and evaluation of the vehicle as well as ask any questions you may have. There are a number of local specialized technicians not affiliated with Classic Showcase that offer this service. The cost usually starts at $250.00 and can go up, depending on the shop and level of inspection requested. We can have the results faxed to you upon completion. Is there a warranty on this vehicle?

This is a used vehicle, sold as is, without a warranty implied or expressed. Please keep in mind that we have not performed a full restoration on the vehicle. Our description is as complete as possible without dismantling the car.We have knowledge in what to look for with our 30 plus years experience. Pre-owned vehicles could have normal wear and tear. How will I get my car home?
We can help arrange safe, dependable transport of any vehicle purchased from us as well as provide rates for open and enclosed transport. We work with the most reliable and best transport companies. If you want your vehicle shipped out of the country we can help arrange transport via flat bed truck to the docks in Los Angeles. We will then have it loaded into a shipping container and shipped to your destination. We can even make local transportation arrangements if requested. If you choose to contact a transporter yourself for rates, the vehicle is located in Oceanside, CA in San Diego County.

Bidding and Payment Terms

By placing a bid, you verify that you have read the following terms and conditions: Payment is due within 5 business (or 7 calendar) days of close of auction. We accept cash, cashiers check, personal check (will hold till check clears) money order, or bank-to-bank wire transfer. Contact us regarding PayPal and credit card sales. The auction winner is responsible for all shipping costs. There will be a $65 DMV processing fee charged.

California residents will pay sales tax, license, and registration fees on the final sales price of the vehicle. Sales tax will vary based on the city/county you reside in.
