Jaguar XK150 Close Ratio Laycock Overdrive Transmission

Up for bid is an authentic original factor issue vintage excellent used overdrive gearbox assemply as shown. Marked numbers are JLS41492CR, which according to the jaguar archives is correct fitment to the Jaguar XK 150S sports cars. The suffix letters "CR" indicate that it is a close ratio transmission. Complete with the Laycock DeNormanville overdrive unit. Cannot have been more tha a handful of these made. The gears look perfect. I have checked every tooth in every gear that I can get to and there is no wear, chips, or other damage. The gears on the layshaft were also inspected and they also look perfect from what I cold see. There is no wear evident anywhere and everything is very tight with no slop. Everything rotates from the input shaft through to the output /drive shaft and nothing is frozen. Oil was full and it was recently drained for shipping and handling. The overdrive assembly has been inspected as well as it can be without putting itin a car and testing it and for that reason alone I cannot guarantee anything about it. The only part missing is the overdrive solenoid.Having said this, I haveno reason to believe there is anything wrong with it. The transmission has been in dry storage for many years and was removed from a salvaged car further back than I can remember.This is an excellent period survivor.
