1966 Jaguar XKE Series One 2+2
The Jaguar E type is one of the most enduring and iconic designs from the golden era of sports cars. The earliest "Series One" cars are considered to be the most desirable of all, ith covered headlights and simpler, roven mechanicals. This car came to us from a long-term, nthusiast owner and was relatively local. According to the heritage certificate, t is a numbers matching unit and maintains its factory color configuration of cream over a red interior. This combination is stunning in person and suits the lines of the Jag well.
The paint and chrome on this car are very presentable but not perfect. There are several minor "bubbles" in the paint that are visible at about 3 feet. The chrome is all original. The mechanicals are excellent having been carefully maintainedwith judicious improvements made to improve drivability. The car starts very easily and is excellent to drive.
The early XKE market has been very strong over the last few years; an early restored roadster just sold at auction for nearly $450,000. The 2+2may belessdesirable than the coupe or roadster but represents an opportunity to get into an iconic design at a comparatively reasonable price.
