Up for sale here is a 1988 Isuzu Trooper 4-door - comes with an '89 Trooper 2-door parts vehicle!
The '88 was a daily driver up until a few months back. Vehicle came from GA, and spent most of it's life in the South - this is why it's in such pristine condition for it's age. Undercarriage is PERFECT! Some minor surface rust starting on the body in a couple spots - no rot at all! Vehicle was put on a lift every fall and oiled down to protect it from road salt.
Runs and drives perfect! Lots of work done over the past 3 years - timing belt, oil pump, crank seal, belts, hoses, vacuum line repairs, ball joints, CV axles, tires ( comes with an extra set of wheels with BRAND NEW tires on them! ), and much more I've forgotten about. Has new Firestone Winterforce snow tires on it now. Thing drives beautifully, stops perfect, and fires right up no matter how long it sits. Doors open and close SUPER easy! It's a joy to own and drive.
Needs power steering leaks fixed - have to keep adding fluid. Emergency brakes have been repaired several times - ongoing issue with crap quality cables. That's about it! A/C does NOT work - will need complete overhaul.
TONS of spare parts here! I have a box full, plus a pile of parts inside the parts Trooper. The parts Trooper ran and drove in 2015. Was used in NY as a plow truck. Body is great, but the undercarriage is extremely rough - the frame rusted in half, and sent the engine fan into the radiator when the engine mount tore loose. I heard it run a year and a half ago - sounded like it had a dead cylinder, possibly from overheating due to the fan incident. The rear end has been gutted, but the shell is there. 5-speed tranny and transfer case still installed in the truck. EXCELLENT wheels - 5 OE alloy mags! So many extra parts I've lost track - most aren't pictured.
The owner was in the process of removing the dash from the parts vehicle to install it in the '88 (front seats have already been swapped - bench seat is in back of the '89, not installed), when he became seriously ill - he loves this truck and would've kept it forever, but medical issues force it's sale.
Anything pictured in either vehicle that is not parts will be removed (paper towels, tools, etc.)
Don't miss this chance to have a great, classic Trooper and a mountain of parts to keep it going for years to come!
Paypal deposit of $50 due immediately upon purchase - remainder to be paid cash in person.
Can deliver either one - fee based on distance. Can deliver both, one at a time, but it will be cheaper for you to hire a hauler, unless you're around western-central MA. Closer will be roughly $1.50 per mile, farther about $1 per mile, based on information off of Mapquest from my zip to yours (factoring in tolls with trailer, and current premium fuel costs for a gas pickup - truck knocks BAD when towing, so have to run premium). I have a winch on my trailer, and can pull the '89 parts Trooper up on it no problem, but may need assistance removing it at your destination. Come with your trailer for the '88, and I'll follow you back home with the '89, same day (EXCEPT SUNDAY, or any road trip that includes SUNDAY).
