Car description |
---|
Selling a one owner and extremely original 1977 International Scout II with either 22k or 122k miles. This comes equipped with their very reliable 4 cylinder 196 4 cyl Comanche motor and 5 speed manual transmission. Power Steering, power brakes ( disk front ) and 4x4. All original deluxe interior with rubber mat thru out interior. Front seats show some wear but are in amazing shape for a 42 year old truck.
Mechanically the Scout runs fine but will need either a fine tuning of the freshly REBUILT carb or replace altogether if tuning is not possible. Truck runs, shifts, and stops as it should but will need a good once over. Everything works, All gauges, and even the AM radio works! Turn signals, lights, etc are all operational.
New items:
-New Aluminium Radiator- New hoses- New plug wires- New cap and rotor- New spark plugs- New battery- Fresh gas and coolant
Again, car runs but after rebuilding the carb we believe it will need a new accelerator pump or a new carb. That seems to be the culprit for the truck not getting enough fuel at speed. It starts up, shifts fine but seems to be starving for fuel once running....
Exterior: Extremely solid and not covered in rust like most Scouts. It has a very shiny exterior with some surface rust in the roof gutters but none of it has gone thru. ONLY two small areas, one small hole on the lower driver rocker ( including patch panel I made ) and on the driver side upper lift gate hinge...easy to repair but will require some welding. It is still operational but requires some TLC when opening the lift gate. Tailgate is fine. Floors and chassis is solid with the frame having usual surface rust. 98% rust free vehicle.
Interior is in amazing shape for its age....can easily drive as is or restore.
Exterior has one large dent in rear driver taillight section ($125 for new panel ) and a small size dent on front driver fender above headlight. Passenger side door is missing the mirror and has a door length scratch
It comes with ALL original documentation, including window sticker, Line Setting Ticket, owners manual, and all the sales documents of when the car was purchased here in Fallbrook Ca. The car has been here all its life. I have the original title and bill of sale. I will be happy to answer any questions you have and have tried to describe it as best as I could. This is a SOLID and very ORIGINAL 1977 Scout....hard to find in this condition. Thanks!
