Car description |

Up for your consideration is this very cool, old school wrecker. I believe this to be a 1967 International Harvester 1500B Tow Truck with a Holmes 500 wrecker body on it. LOADS of patina with this old wrecker. Biggest down side is that there is no title. I will be happy to provide the buyer with a Bill of Sale upon pickup.
The body does have plenty of rust, as does the floor boards. The wrecker body also does have some areas that are rusted through as well. The wrecker booms, winches, etc. are going to need to be soaked with some penetrating fluid in order to get freed up, but I have no doubt that it can all be loosened up.
All tires are flat, and the driver's front brake is locked up. The other 3 wheels all roll freely.
The old truck has what appears to be the original IH engine in it, which I think is most likely a 304 cid. Best part is THE ENGINE TURNS OVER FREELY. Once I brought the truck home, I borrowed a fresh battery from another truck, and the engine did indeed turn over. So with just a little effort, I would suspect that the engine will still run. The 4 speed transmission is still intact as well. Some of the lights still work.
This has a Holmes 500 wrecker bed on it, which is rated at 20,000lbs capacity. The bed itself is worth close to the Buy it Now price alone.
It's a rough old truck, but definitely worthy of another chance. It certainly doesn't deserve to be scrapped. It would be a really cool rat rod tow truck. Get it running, slap a seat in it, put some tires on it, and get the brakes all operating, and leave the exterior just as it is. It already has a great look.
PLEASE ask ALL questions BEFORE you bid. ALSO, if you have LESS THAN 10 feedback, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING.
This is for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. I will not ship this truck. The buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements. I can certainly help to load, as I have a skid loader as well as a tractor with a loader on it. I require that the truck is picked up within 20 days of the auction ending, UNLESS you have made arrangements with me PRIOR TO THE AUCTION ENDING. If it is not picked up within the allotted time, storage charges will be assessed against the truck that will be required to be paid before it can leave. I hate to be that way, but I have had people leave their purchases on my land for months on end.
PAYMENT - The winning bidder must make a $300 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of the auction ending. The remaining balance MUST be paid within 7 days. Contact me to make arrangements for final payment. I WILL NOT accept personal check for any reason whatsoever.
Please check out the many other items that I have listed here on Ebay, and thank you for taking time to check out this great Ebay Auction.
