This Scout is the real thing - nearly a unicorn in Scout circles!! A documented and authentic Factory Patriot Scout II, original and unrestored, road worthy and ready for the full restoration!My Scout is explicitly referenced in the Scout Encyclopedia (J Allen and J Glancy authors) on page 242 as VIN FGD43230.Their research yielded a total of only 42 units produced at the Ft Wayne, IN factory (several knockoffs were produced at various dealerships at the time, but all lack the factory specs on the Line Setting Tickets, LST).This Scout was the second to last Patriot (#41/42) to roll off the assembly line in June 1976.
Originally ordered by a Colorado Springs dealership, this Patriot Scout has lived its full life in CO.Found it in Snowmass Village in a bit of disarray, and have spent thousands getting it back to its road worthy and clean condition.Highlights of the improvements include:
* Rebuilt carb (Holley 1210)
* Pertronix Electronic Ignition
* Pertronix Blaster Coil
* Replaced all plugs, wires, rotor and cap, air filter
* Complete brake replacement - new rotors, pads, drums, shoes, hardware
* Replaced Heater core and valve assembly, cable lines and control assembly
* Flushed and replaced all fluids: radiator, engine, auto trans, transfer, and both differentials (3.54 gear ratio)
* Replaced rear differential (original diff had several defective teeth on gears)
* Brand new Goodyear Wrangler tires all around
* Wiring harness and lighting system de-bug and clean up - all lights (interior/exterior) fully functional
* Misc interior and exterior trim pieces and parts replacements
* All rust areas wire wheeled and scraped down, then two POR 15 applications made
This Patriot Scout is now a trustworthy rig that is mechanically sound, aesthetically clean and intact, and ready for the full restoration.It has the usual Scout rust in all the predictable places - outer rockers, wedges, floor pans, quarters (several pics included).The final process is not something I wish to take on, but this Patriot Scout will make the perfect project for someone searching for an absolute special and important Scout.It is a rare find - both in terms of the limited production and the unrestored condition of this factory Patriot.Truly investment grade if taken the full restoration distance.
This rig will not last for long here - who knows how many of the original 42 factory Patriots still exist? Very reasonable reserve price - hopefully this Patriot lands in the hands of a proud Scout owner who wants to take it through the final resto process! LISTED LOCALLY, RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION EARLY.
