Car description |

1967 International Harvester 908B stepside. I really love this truck and this would be my third binder. Unfortunately, I moved to another state 6 years ago and it has been sitting under cover since with random start ups when I would visit home. After my latest visit back home to Ohio, I finally decided it was time to sell. The prior spring, I had made an attempt to start the truck like always and drive it down the dirt road but I couldn't get it to start (No spark). A mechanic with more time than a few hours and a garage could have this started and on the road in a weekend or less.
Fast forward to last week, my father just reported to me that his pickup was having starting issues and they found the culprit to be mice chewing on the wiring. I asked him to investigate my truck but he couldn't visually see any damage... I'm hedging my bets that is what is keeping mine from starting.
Prior to that news of the mice damage, during my last visit to Ohio I brought a shopping cart from Rock Auto full of replacement parts and also picked up a new Diehard Silver battery from Sears as I the old one had enough.
What was recently completed...
Brand New Holley carb and gasket.
New plug wires and plugs
New points
New condenser
New distributor cap
New coil
This is what was completed prior to moving out of state
Rusted fleet side bed was removed
Stepside from 70's binder was purchased. Much better shape than the fleetside. tail gate from my first binder.
Custom stainless steel gas tank built with IH fuel sending unit for frame rail install
62 Chevy C10 bench seat
CD player
New shocks
Rear half of frame painted with black frame paint
Mag rims with larger tires in rear
Tires are dry rotted but will air up to roll it down the road
Engine 73xxx miles
4.3L 266cid V8 - Lot of life and power on this motor. Just needs spark!
3 speed manual with granny gear and reverse. No issues or grinding gears
It does need rust repair attention on the floorboards, cab corners and cowl. You will see a portion of the floor cut out which I have the whole piece that just needs welded back in place. It was cut out to make room for bucket seats but I scrapped that plan and went with the bench seat. The bed obviously needs painted and brackets will need to be fabbed up to officially attach to the frame rails towards the front of the bed. The rear holes line up with the carriage head bolts.
This was purchased and transported from Arizona about 9 years ago so it is overall a solid desert truck. I had it under a car cover at my parents' house when I left it behind.
Selling As-Is
Good Luck Bidding!
