Car description

In the year nineteen hundred and sixty sevenJoseph A. Seiberlic, Centereach fire chief, put the finishing touches on his order from international harvester fora travelallambulance for the departments station number 2. complete with an automatic transmission, 304 v-8, raised roof with EMT seating and gurney.

Centereach firedepartment began with 46 members and one fire truck to respond to calls in 1933. Arthur Murray was chosen as the first Chief of the Centereach Fire Department.

In 1939 the Centereach Fire District was formed with the Board of Fire Commissioners. The Fire District purchased the Firehouse from the Department for the price of $1 to transfer the property into the Districts name. Along with the firehouse the Board of Fire Commissioners purchased 2 new pumpers 1 being a 1939 Ford Pumper the other a 1939 Sealand Pumper, which is still used today asthere Antique Parade & Ceremonial Truck. This travelall ambulance was used for decades and as is usual with fire departments was very well maintained and kept inside always. accumulating only 16k actual miles or so on the odometer it was then purchased by a fire truck museum in Arizona to be put on display inside until it was brought to Michigan to be displayed inside the antique toy and firetruck museum in bay city Michigan for an additional decade. many curious sets of eyes have been laid on this original piece of fire and ambulance history. I purchased the ambulance directly from the museum in bay city to display on my showroom floor and take to local events. I had the carb rebuilt and transmission pulled and completely rebuilt by bay transmission in bay city Michigan. the travelall starts up, idles, runs down the road and drives perfectly. everything works including the lights, siren, P/A, interior lights, gas gauge and other gauges.

this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a very exceptional piece of history. the travelall is absolutely fantastic condition with only a few spots of bubble and rust. please be sure to watch the video as I point out each rust spot in detail. any questions please call or email me and I will get back to you promptly. I have sold plenty of international harvester vehicles over the last 10 years with many happy buyers. please look at my positive feedback for peace of mind on your bidding. best of luck!
