this is an amazingly incredible rock crawler that i purchased a few years back from a fellow ebayer - this is his write up - other that taking care of this beast and replacing fuel lines, its pretty much the same - no heavy rust - paint still good and man, this thing can top just about anything you can put in front of her.
For Sale is my 1980(tagged as a 72) Scout II I've had for over 20 years. It has single handily churned the Topeka, KS economy along for all those years.....meaning I have way too much money invested in this Scout...50k or better...
This Scout has been to the RMIHR countless times and has been on most all the trails in Colorado and has never skipped a beat. This is a very capable rock crawler, meaning I crawled over rocks, never fast or spinning the tires out. The Scout has seen countless trails, but never abused. It's been like a family member to me. The list of modifications goes on and on and I have forgotten many of them. This was not a backyard build(not that there's anything wrong with that), this truck was built by a friend of mine who builds buggies for the King of the Hammers participants...and I believe the one who got 2nd last year....100k dollar buggies.
Rebuilt 392 fuel injectedScout II Aluminum Radiator(this engine stays at 180 degrees period)Brand new Dana 60's with Detroit Lockers(fully rebuilt and every piece new)/4.88 gears/Custom Mark Williams axlesT19 Wide Ratio 4 speed transmissionDana 300 transfer case with a4 to 1 kitplus 1 ton input and output shafts
37 Goodyear H1 tires with re-centered H1 bead lock wheels/ will need a new spare tire these are 10ply military tires you see on military humvee's
spare tire is gouged out in two places and probably cant be patched.
SSII inserts with new SSII doorsRear suspension is a custom 4 Link(coil sprung) with the front being a Scout II spring over lift these are supported by heavy duty plate welded to a re-unforcedframe as you can see in pictures
30 gallon gas tank with all aluminum lines (maybe stock 19gal)
Full custom roll cage tied to the frame in various spotsCustom hoodCustom shock setup with brand new Fox shocksCustom rock sliders built into body (boat sides)Never used Warn 8k pound winchDual Electric Fan setup in frontCustom Kill switch w/ keyCustom bumpers (front one will hold air)(rear swing away)

This Scout runs fantastic, it's quiet and very easy on the trails to maneuver. It crawls over anything. The suspension is nice and flexy. It's been a joy to own, but I don't have time anymore.

- Revision: One viewer has responded that the gas tank is not 30gal but stock 19gal - i'm not sure but i'm revising this -i can supply more pics of this area if this is of concern as i did for the viewer. Again, all that are interested are encouraged to look at the vehicle in person before bidding.
