Car description |
---|
This Scout ll has been taken great care of. Previous owner has kept it in an airport hanger for the last 7 years. During this time less than 1000 miles have been put on the vehicle. While there is no way of confirming the actual mileage, it's not hard to believe considering the condition of the vehicle. It was restored just prior to 2011. The Scout is in nearly perfect condition. There are zero dents, floor pans and under carriage have no rust. There is no rust under any of the carpeting. You can see from the underside floor pan photos there is zero rust, and that an under coating was applied some years ago. There are only 5 or 6 small scratches or chips in the paint. Upholstery is perfect, no rips or tears. The only flaw on the interior is the factory padded dash has 3 age cracks in it. IH Parts America actually sells a hard plastic molded cover that fits over the existing padded dash and utilizes the existing screws. About a 10 minute job. They are back ordered now or I would already have it installed.
As mentioned, this little Scout is a runner! The 440 motor is in excellent condition, zero smoke, smooth running, cranks first time every time. Transmission, transfer all in perfect working order. Whomever did the 440 V8 upgrade and mods did an excellent job as can be seen in motor compartment shots. No grease, oil or fluids or residue under the hood, it is in excellent condition. The 440 engine swap was popular among Scout ll owners, but they are still hard to find, and nearly impossible to find in this condition. As mentioned earlier, this little Scout performs excellent on the highway. Drives straight as an arrow at 70mph with one finger on the wheel. The factory fiberglass top which is also in excellent condition is also included in the sale.
I will be glad to take any and all additional photos of specific areas that any potential bidder requests. Absolutely nothing to hide on this ride. A lot of time and money was spent and it shows. While I have only sold a hand full of collector cars on ebay, all have been given excellent reviews. I present it exactly as is, and will answer any and all questions, and provide any desired photos which I have not already posted. Someone is going to be the new owner of a very special ride. This thing gets second looks everywhere it goes! I would not hesitate for a moment to hit the open road in this Scout, which is exactly what we are going to do later this summer if it does not sell. You want to get second looks from a first generation Bronco owner, this will do it.
I will also be glad to assist in any way with shipping as far as arranging for a shipper if needed. Will ship world wide. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end with remainder being due by cashiers check or wire within 7 days of close of auction.
Good luck and happy bidding to all!
