'77 SCOUT II
1977 International Harvester Scout II, one owner vehicle ready for your restoration dreams. The International Harvester Scout is an off-raod vehicle which was produced by International Harvester from 1961-1980. This offroad vehicle was a precursor of the more sophisticated SUV's to come, it was created as a competitor to the Jeep, and it initially feature a fold-down windshield like the Jeep. The Scout and 2nd generation SCOUT II were produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana as two-door trucks with a removable hard top with options of a full length roof, half cab pickup and/or soft top.
This Scout is a perfect candidate for a restoration project. There is rust on this machine, but by no means is this a total rust out. Everything works on this vehicle however patch panels will need to be welded in here and there. The steering box might need to be replaced or repaired, could use new leaf springs, carpeting, upholstery work and a new paint job would be in order. This is a very solid project and needs very little to be perfect.
Feel the roar:
This Scout II is a one owner vehicle and was built for the previous owner. This video captures the solid roar of the engine and gives the buyer an idea of what it will take to restore this survivor. The engine runs strong, shifts through all gears, and 4x4 engages. There are items like the sliding glass on the removable top, working radio, original hub caps, manual transmission that make this Scout highly desirable. Make sure to doyour due diligence and view the photos and ask any questions, so you may be able to make an educated decision in purchasing this vehicle. Remember this is a 40 year old vehicle that hasn't been restored and will not be perfect in any way.
