Two owner Scout, bought it in Lusk, yoming from the original owner in 1990 with 54,000 original miles. My original thought was to replace the Six with a V8, ut after driving it, found the Six has plenty of power and much better fuel mileage. I used it mostly for going up in the Hills to get firewood and for hauling things that wouldn't fit in my Travelall. I'm selling it has manual steering and a manual transmission; this is a younger person's Scout, nd I am getting older. This adult driven Scout has never been abused, ever been over 3,500 RPM since I got it in 1990. I had to replace the transmission when I bought it as the old rancher I bought it from had wrecked the non-synchronized first gear in the original 3 speed transmission. It is a nearly all original and totally stock 1972 IH Scout Cab Top (pickup) with approximately 80,000 miles. It's only option was an AM radio. The Engine, ransmission, ransfer Case and Differentials all work as they should, ith the exception of the front differential, escribed later. Fluids were changed every 12,000 miles, ith IH fluids from the local dealership. The Transfer Case has 90W mineral oil as per IH specifications from the dealership. It gets 19 MPG @ 60 MPH. It has a good starting 258 Six Cylinder with rare and desirable Wide Ratio Four Speed Transmission (6:1 first gear), wo Speed Transfer Case. Manual Steering and Brakes. It has a Dana 44 in the rear, ana 30 in the front, .73 Gear Ratio. Gauges, eater, nd lights all work. The Glass is all good. Tailgate opens and closes well. It recently got a New Old Stock, H Factory Carburetor, nd a Mallory One Wire Electronic Distributor (50,000 Volt). It has 16 inch wheels, he Tires are new and still have some of the ink markings on the tread, ut they are old. Good Glass, indows roll up and down as they should. Needs work: parked because of U-joint in front axle seizing and making steering and driving difficult. This 40 year old Truck does need work, ut it comes with most of the parts needed to repair and improve it. Planning an engine overhaul, have purchased, iece by piece, nearly complete Master Kit and NOS Head, omplete and ready to use. .030 oversize Pistons/rings, od and Main Bearings. Camshaft and lifters, iming Gears and Chain, nd some Gaskets. I will be adding more photos. Price is FOB, ut I will help in any way I can to ship this rig and am flexible as to pick up date. (license plates come due in January, aid for by the new owner). Payment is due no later than 10 days after sale. I have a dolly and will haul it as far as 200 miles from 57701, ut will have to rent a uhaul pickup to pull it. I have used Uship with good results, ut have found I don't prefer brokers. The bad: The rear quarters have rust issues down low. Rockers have rust. The ignition switch needs to be replaced, airly easy on this, Chevy type column. The seat needs work on the driver's side. The speedometer cable is broken.
